Its Tuesday. Taco Tuesday.
Any time maintenance goes passed 1100PST, it gets extended again.
My theory is: Since it is Taco Tuesday, Blizzard brings in a Taco Truck for the employees. Of course, this leads to long lines and time to walk there from their desks and back. Giving them an extra hour to do so.
Additionally, no one wants to get taco stuff on their keyboards so they cannot do any work during their two hour Taco Tuesday lunch window.
I can’t understand the times involved. The time these maintenance periods are taking is telling me hardware changes. Or they are refactoring player item databases.
A software patch is just a shutdown, load the patch, restart, check the result.
taco tuesday is a good theory but i bet its cos blizz pays for subpar tacos and then they get stomach issues and have to extend it since they are stuck on the toilet
and inevitably taco tuesday turns into taco poop day, and there’s only so many bathroom stalls, so there’s a line. so the real solution to downtime extensions is to send port-o-potties to blizzard HQ
