Just looking for other’s ideas on what I thought the Jailer’s line could mean.
The Jailer talks about a “cosmos divided”…instead of that meaning the normal faction/realms conflict, it reminded me more of a FF14 post-sundering type of situation, as in we used to be more powerful like the first ones but some incident divided us into our current realms. Similarly, characters like the Jailer & Sargeras who try to wipe everyone out for the greater good seem like Ascians from FF14 who try to blow up the world in order to rejoin the realms to a previously more powerful state. Also, our characters have some special connection to Azeroth just like FF14 characters have a connection to Hydaelyn.
I believe FF14’s original world was split into 13 shards; the WoW cosmos chart has 13 realms/elements as well (holy, disorder, death, shadow, order, life; fire, air, decay, earth, water, spirit; reality in the middle). Maybe Azeroth the planet is like FF14’s the Source, and Azeroth the soul is like FF’s Hydaelyn.
Not saying the two games align exactly or copying, but a physical sundering type of “cosmos divided” seems maybe a bit more interesting than just telling us to work out of differences to fight the next TBD bad guy?
It’s possible. I don’t know if you’ve read all of this or know it, but I thought I’d share for you and others who might find this interesting. It’s all of the info we have on the Cosmic Forces.
Also, here’s the two charts for those that are curious:
The first image always struck me as odd that Order and Chaos are placed in such a way that Order/Arcane/Titans are on the side of Void and Disorder/Fel/Legion are on the side of Light. One would think they should be transposed.
I think he was saying a threat outside the cosmos that is going to need all the forces to unite to defeat. odds are this extra-cosmic threat was contained in some way by the first ones who sacrificed themselves to defeat it, when that happened as each one sacrificed themselves each first one became a fundamental force for example magic, arcane, death, life, etc. somehow Azeroth ties into this and is possibly the seventh force of the cosmos that which binds it together.
I thought it could be possible that the Jailer was afraid of a war itself between the planes of existence. He thought it would destroy everything, and decided to restart the universe, re-making it all under his domination.
The Jailer essentially wanted all mortals and the beings of the planes into mindless, emotionless robots that wouldn’t fight for any reason. He was basically creating an absolute order (lawful evil)
Cosmos devided I gather meaning the different parts of the wow cosmic chart. Light/void, life/death, arcane/fel ect ect. All apart of the same cosmos but devided in goals, ambition and purpose. Basically think Arthus all over again. Arthus kill everyone raise them as undead serving me so I can stop the burning legion cause horde/alliance seperated can’t do it. Same thing just bigger picture bigger bad.
