Chapter 2
World Update
The scourge threat has seemingly gone from bad to worse. Investigations that begun in the Eastern Kingdoms has revealed several farms have been destroyed, greatly reducing food production, especially in the southern continental area. In addition, unsecured and vulnerable trade routes have meant that little of the food is being produced is making it to the large urban areas, where waves of refugees fleeing the countryside have meant an increased need.
Upon hearing reports of possible scourge incursions into Kalimdor, allied forces, aboard a Sunreaver vessel, have traveled to Ratchet with crates of magi-conjured food to hand out to locals upon arrival. Reports indicate that plagued grain, distributed days prior, have lead to several crazed flesh-hungry citizens running rampant on the local populace. While a few were lost during an open conflict, most were rounded up on the chance that priests will be able to heal them and reverse the process that appears to be underway.
It is worth noting that there are suspicions of plague-tainted grain having been processed through the Crossroads and shipped to destinations unknown.
Citizens of the Barrens and beyond are advised not to eat any food that hasnât been thoroughly examined.

Chapter 2
World Update
The scourge continue to hit farms and supply routes on both the continents of Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor. A concerted to replace regular food supplies with plagued grain has been discovered in Kalimdor, with shipments having left The Crossroads for various villages and settlements across the Barrens and beyond.
One party of allied forces has come together to escort and defend a civilian caravan carrying several crates of conjured food for the people living in Ashenvale Forest. That group came under heavy attack by Kaldorei rangers, who were later revealed to be undead.
Reports indicate that events turned from bad to worse when an undead drake descended from the skies and attacked the caravan, spewing an acidic blight-like substance before flying off and returning to its hiding spot somewhere in Ashenvale Forest.
None of the civilians survived. Remaining allied forces have retreated back to the Barrens for the time being.
Flight Masters across northern Kalimdor are warned against permitting all but the most essential travel by air until such a time as this new drake threat can be properly ascertained.

World Update
Word has spread across the region. The call to arms has been made.
The Scourge seek to seed a new Plagueland in Ashenvale, one that would envelope the ancient forests and spread into the Barrens, Azshara, Felwood, and Stonetalon, and beyond.
With numerous Undead Drakes at his command, the Scourge Death Knight, known as the âWyrmflayerâ, is close to crushing opposition within the region to ensure his plot comes to fruition.
Tonight at 5 PM ST, we continue on into Ashenvale to attempt to drive back the undead threat!

Greetings all,
Allied forces have converged in Barrow Den, and have panned their assault on the scourge forces based in Ashenvale Forest.
Word is sent out: all available champions are requested in Ashenvale to aid in the assault and rid the area of scourge threat.
Our Chapter 2 finale will happy on Saturday July 19th at 4pm WrA/6pm MG and should last about 3 hours!

Chapter 2
Finale
World Update
Reports come in to every major city in the Eastern Kingdoms, Kalimdor and beyond: the scourge threat continues, and their advances are merciless.
Entire towns and villages have fallen in the southern Eastern Kingdoms (Westfall, Darkshire, Elwynn Forest and Stranglethorn) and in the north-eastern quadrant of Kalimdor (Durotar, the Barrens, Aszhara and Ashenvale Forest). As they fall, the corpses of the murdered are taken, and the armies of the scourge seem to grow almost exponentially.
In addition, many farms and fishing villages have been decimated, and trade routes have been overtaken easily, as most of the local guards have been pulled to defend the cities, which gave become fortified sanctuaries for refugees fleeing the armies of undead.
Plagued grain has been intercepted in Kalimdor, and more is believed to have made tis way to local populations. Any person feeling ill should report to their local medics or healers immediately, and keep away from the general population.
A coalition of allied forces, spearheaded by the Argent Crusade, the Kirin Tor and the Sunreavers, and made up of champions from many other orders, have been traveling the world, investigating and attempting to counter the threat.
In recent days, their investigation lead them into Ashenvale Forest, where a ritual was underwear to turn the vast woods into a new Plaguelands. This would have placed Orgrimmar, Hyjal and Darkshore at high risk.
While the ritual was interrupted, the coalition was was under heavy fire and became too wounded to pursue once the perpetrators escaped. Those brave heroes were transported to Dalaran, over the Broken Isles, where they will need time to heal, mend and regroup.
Cities are encouraged to keep their gates closed to keep their populations safe. The Kirin Tor and Sunreavers are currently debating sending magi to all major cities to encourage transport by portal.
Villages, towns and outposts are asked to be vigilant and double their guard. The scourge are not contained, and their is a serious threat of them moving into new areas rather quickly.
Chapter 2, spanning from March until this past weekend has now ended. The planning team of storytellers and DMs will not take a much needed break, but only for a few weeks. We will be back with Chapter 3 in early or mid-July.

Hey everyone, hope you are all enjoying your Midsummer break!
Just an update to let you know we are busy planning chapter 3 (and 4) of the Year of the Scourge campaign. We have been going strong for six months and plan to go all the way to the Winterveil season.
The Year of the Scourge will be starting back up on July 17th with a Meeting event, which is perfect for new characters who want to join and get a full briefing of whats been happening thus far, and what the current situation is.

Most cities have now closed their gates to the outside world, with the scourge threat growing in most areas in northern Kalimdor and southern Eastern Kingdoms.
The Kirin Tor have mobilized mages to most of these cities and major outposts to facilitate travel through a portal network, which they maintain.
Now, those mages have posted an advertisement in all major cities:
«The scourge threat is real. A group of Allied forces have been hard at work, but more heroes are required. Any and all available champions of the Horde, the Alliance and beyond are requested and required in Dalaran on Saturday, the 17th of July at 5/7 bells past noon for an important briefing and to strategize a way forward.»

Why prologue event, you ask?
This will be a meeting, a gathering of allied forces, old and new, to discuss the current status of the world and the scourge, and formulate a strategy moving forward. This event will recap whatâs happened so far, and where we are. It is the PERFECT event for anyone who has had their eyes on our campaign, but didnât know when to join in, without feeling hopelessly lost.
Chapters 1 and 2 are behind us now, and our heroes walked away from a bleak, marginal victory in Ashenvale. The scourge are still out there. Things are about to ramp up. We hope to see many of you return, or join, our campaign for Chapter 3, which will span from July until mid September!
