The somewhat odd thing here is that, if we take it for granted that a game’s modding community is inevitably going to make scantily-clad/nude mods for basically all the game’s female characters (which is pretty true, let’s be real), then the devs aren’t so much removing the nudity as making the nudity opt-in.
Which, I realize a lot of these people would still object even if we framed it in terms of consent, but I think they would get a lot less traction in the discourse that way.
It’s all about being outraged over something.
Cyberpunk 2077 is taking too long to get here. I want it NOW.

We don’t even need to wait for the FF7 remake to come out before people throw tantrums.
I looked through comments in the Tifa reveal trailer and -those- people were there going “SCREECH! Tifa’s proportions and outfit!”
I am suspecting these are the same ones who griped about Lara Croft’s new look, even though the general consensus is her new look overall looks better.

Now, this might just be me here, but I think the word ‘Incel’ tends to fit on this crowd rather nicely when you explain to them that not everyone likes pillows attached to light posts.
Western society does actually hate sexuality but it has more to do with the crippling lack of education regarding the topic and has nothing to do with video game characters.

my favorite bit of gamergate outrage was when they lost their minds because Dead or Alive Xtreme Beach Volleyball (5?) wasn’t being ported to the US because Temco didn’t think it would sell well.

Now that I think about it, how would a Dead or Alive Beach Volleyball game featuring the men of the Dead or Alive franchise go down?
I’m just imagining Bass Armstong, Ryu Hayabusa, Zack and the others, jumping around in thongs and lounging by the pool would go down rather well.

So beat tales of vesperia had to abandon any delusions of 100% the game took me over 80 hours to beat over the course of the month.
The sidequests were nonsensical and had abusive cutoff times where even so much as leaving an area would lock you out of them forever.
And the final act of the game just drags on forever.
