Seeing all these interviews where they’re talking about how Endwalker’s MSQ is going to be longer and will have more cutscenes has me so hyped, y’all. I am ready to go on a TRIP.
Also very excited to talk to literally every Sharlayan and Thavnairian NPC I come across. These are places I’ve been interested in since first hearing about them years ago and I’m eager to inject that sweet, sweet lore directly into my veins.
I’m hoping for some really exotic looking glamor pieces. I already spend hours running duties and the like just to finish off the next tribal look for my characters. Give me all the drip!
They’re really being tight lipped about class updates and changes which is making me nervous. Most games are proud to announce revisions on the first announcement of the xpac. FF14 , outside of a hint to some healer changes with the addition of sage has been all too quiet.
When I first gave Samurai a try and found myself in a lower level duty with a greatly abbreviated button set, I got into a group where the healer dropped dead on the final boss and so did the other DPS. So there I am panicking, cackhanding my own shortened rotation and desperately mashing my survival buttons while strategically backing out and going back in.
We survived. I apologize profusely for my horrible grip on my own character and instead of abuse I got “nah man you did great”
Like… if playing WoW and dealing with hateful, relentless, vicious verbal abuse every time I deigned to actually play with others (a lot of it homophobic too) was like just constantly burning to death, then getting into FFXIV was like being immersed in cool water, caressed with aloe and medicines and gently brought back to life.
Melodramatic? Yes. But I continually sit in awe of an online environment where bullies are kicked out and people are enjoying themselves and actively helping others enjoy themselves. So when I see cynical takes like “uh it’s the same people” I just have to shake my head and sigh.
God, sorry, I just have to ramble for a bit! Thavnair and Radz-at-Han being a blend of Arabic and Indian cultures just sounds so dang cool, and I trust FFXIV’s writers to do it right and do it well. The fact that they seem to be looking to the Arab world’s long, LONG history of being a center of learning (and the birthplace of alchemy!) for inspiration is awesome and something you don’t see all that often in fantasy.
Or in a lot of fantasy-based roleplay, for that matter. It’ll be nice to not have to deal with shirtless “caliphs” running around brandishing scimitars and yelling about how big their harem is. FFXIV said Tanari roleplayers don’t have rights. 
I don’t know what specifically it is about it but I am uncontainably excited to see Thavnair and Radz-at-Han. I don’t know if it’s layman’s tourist interest or what but the aesthetic is baller and I crave it.
This is pretty standard for XIV, I think. Their communication seems a lot more controlled in general, or so I get the vibe of. It means less information in general but also seems to tamp down on the perpetual “we’ll fix it next patch” every announcement. We also have no real information on how Reaper and Sage actually play and what utility they provide, I’d expect that and other job tweaks in the pre expansion live letter, along with previews of some of the new skills.
Meh… my experiences have largely been mostly positive in XIV, sometimes surprisingly so… but people are still people.

I’m not nervous, exactly, but I’d absolutely like for them to get that information out there soon rather than later so people can start providing feedback.
Really curious to see what sort of changes are coming to SCH and AST.
To better fit with our vision of SCH as a shield healer, SCH will no longer use books as a main weapon and can now only equip shields.
AST will be losing all of their shield related healing effects, but Gravity 2 is finally here. You’re welcome.
On a more serious note AST was already kinda two half jobs (not that I disliked it) so if we get more funny buttons like Essential Dignity, or more hots, I’ll be pretty content. Just uhh… Give me like, one more angle on the cards though. Just a teeny tiny third or overlapping gimmick and it’ll be stellar.
And SCH is already in almost exactly the kind of spot I’d expect it to be, I imagine rather than seeing many changes to SCH they’re designing Sage around it.
Class changes usually don’t come till later so announcements about the specifics are normally withheld for a bit. As a SMN main, I have high hopes for the changes because it’s my favorite class from a fantasy perspective and I enjoy playing it currently.

Oh, yeah, I’m fully expecting Sage to be a… less complicated SCH? Well, maybe not so much “less complicated” as having a few fewer buttons, as it usually is with new classes.
edit: And no fairy or equivalent to manage, of course.

If I remember right WRA is an RP server …trust me FFXIV is NOT RP friendly.
