Y’shtola’s filter is deliberately set to 0 F’s given. She’ll speak her mind freely. She does cool off a little bit as the expansions go by, but she’s always pretty bluntly forward. You can even see that in the Endwalker trailer. I wouldn’t say its’ bratty, so much as she’s walked through hell and has no patience left for anyone’s nonsense as she tries to hold a crumbling world together with an ever increasingly small group of individuals who have their heads removed from their hindquarters just enough to see the fire.
Gentle but firm reminder that a few people reading are going through ARR completely blind and have been avoiding trailers. To add spoilers, type the text you want enclosed with < details > and < /details > tags.
Also gotta love the origin story of the game, not the lore but the human endeavour of it.
Sakaguchi explained that the game was his personal last-ditch effort in the game industry and that its title, Final Fantasy , stemmed from his feelings at the time; had the game not sold well, he would have quit the business and gone back to university
I’m sure some of us spent hours sitting in the living room, head cocked up at the television, NES controller firmly in-hand.
Several years later, playing Final Fantasy VI on Super Nintendo – surely one of the greatest RPGs of its time if not all time.
"I will surrender myself on the condition that you do not harm the innocents." Says the woman who uses belts as a shirt to the woman in full plate with gun gauntlets who has just walked over corpses.
For crying out loud, she’s supposed to be the leader of the Scions. Even the Slyph had more fight in her than she did.
Actually I do find it interested that the ENTIRE leadership cadre gets taken prisoner while the rank and file get stacked up by corkwood. Tells me the rank and file at least had some steel in their spines.
Also while playing WoW, my friend proceeded to tell me about how a Demon Hunter from another server rage whispered him about a mythic dungeon run.
I was like damn, I don’t miss those kind of whispers.
And then I remembered the death threats I got when I played on Crystal and got my first house so maybe it’s not all gone, just aimed at a different type of game play ¯ \ _ (ツ)_/¯
Housing (Savage) is probably the only time I’ve experienced genuine toxicity and, tbh, I can’t really blame anyone for being salty about it.
Thankfully, they addressed it in the keynote saying they are going to do their best to adjust the system to be less painful. They said a full lottery system is very difficult with how servers work, but they’re going to try and do their best with something.
I wouldn’t be surprised if they do a lottery. The kind of language they use is how the’ve always gone about doing things. They said the same thing about new wards, bunbois, and all kinds of stuff to temper expectations, but the fact THAT was the first thing they mentioned means they’ve already started looking into it and doing tests.
Yeah, I did a whole video on it, and my stance is that nothing is really different in terms of time, but being able to go and do other things is the big issue right now. Staring a placard for up to 24 hours isn’t fun. Waiting and losing a plot is only painful because you have to stay there. Being able to leave and do other things takes a lot of the sting out.
It took me waiting for 13 hours to get a corner plot in the Goblet to get my first house. It didn’t help my mood any when I got a few rude whispers afterword when I was already feeling emotionally drained for waiting for so long.
Which made it sting all the more when I tried to get a house on Aether on my new server after swapping DC’s, and it took an hour and a half waiting at a plot in Shirogane in front of a MB/Bell…
Did ye just tell an Anu Ra o’ the Maelstrom, one of those sworn to protect Lima Lominsa, Champion of the Marauder’s Guild and well onto the path of the Warrior to CALM DOWN?!
…this is the point of this cheeky reply in which I would go into a verbatim rant of Urist the Dwarf, but since said rant is decidedly not Forum friendly, all I can recommend is looking up Urist on a Tube of Yous.
I’m in desperate need of poetics because I keep trying to have multiple relic steps going at once given how many of them have dungeon overlap… And I keep skipping out on my roulettes because I’ve been grinding out those god damned ARR relic tomes. And Delubrum.
i’m 6/15 into delubrum reginae and i got about a week and some change to get the remaining 9
if the CEM discord keeps hosting events tho it might be quick because a full alliance all using pures and knowing their stuff brings the average DR Normal run down from like 40-50 minutes to like, syrcus tower levels of 20-22 minutes
I did get my second resistance weapon on my samurai and went “whew, that was enough work for today”.
It was 1000 poetics. That’s baby change. Literally cash you buy an ice cream for a baby with. But it was enough.
Edit: The fact that samurai is a class should be evidence enough on why people should play this game. And gunbreaker. And reaper. And a bard who can actually do in game concerts with actual playable instruments.
I’ve been playing XIV off and on since ARR but was never caught up on current content until 5.4. I have a few alts, but my main three are Wild Rose on Mateus, Aizome Kimura on Ultros, and Jih’tan Torai on Adamantoise.
I’m a healer main and usually down to do roulettes so feel free to message me if you see me around.
