The WoW sub count has dropped 41% since Shadowlands launch

That’d be cool. Warcraft Clash of Clans. I’m getting bored with the regular one.

It took me two weeks to realize Shadowlands was not fun.

And it took about 2 days to receive a message declining my request to refund the expansion.

This would be a normal trend if not for the fact we are in a worldwide lockdown.

Nah. SL sucks. I have so little desire to run a toon through Bastion again. I do not have the desire to run a toon through Boreghast again as well. I do not want to farm more anima. I do not want to click on the mission table to see what wonderful adventures my AI helpers get to go on. I do not want to kill the same people in front of the Max cov. because, again, we are under attack. Once upon a time Blizz could really put out a decent xpac but those days are gone, gone, gone.

Amazing.

The entire population stuck at home and Blizzard’s most “talented developers” couldn’t hold their interest for more than a few weeks.

Makes you wonder about what will happen this summer when the Covid restrictions start to lift.

They had the closest thing to a captive audience that they ever and will ever have. And somehow they blew it.

Why do people act like there’s nothing to do at home but play WoW. People are more likely to watch TV, play console games, offline PC games, other games in general, stare at their phones, etc. For those that are stuck at home, doing the same thing over and over will likely burn you out from that one thing faster than just taking a break now and then.

If anything, I would say the burnout from playing every waking moment would actually be worse for the game, than if people could go out to Pokestops more freely, head to the gym, or eat out more often.

Yea I got to say sl seems blah at this point.

obviously this is because void elves dont have blonde hair colors /s

The U.S. economy will rebound strongly in the second half. Lots of pent up demand in blue state cities to get out and about. People are planning their summer vacations (and not stay-cations either).

Always thought of WoW as an inferior good, meaning it sells more when the economy is bad and sells less when the economy is good. Best year for subs in WoW history? WotLK during the depths of the Great Recession.

I don’t expect the WoW population during the summer to be too much worse off in SL Azeroth than it was in BfA Azeroth though.

And will continue to drop in the next couple of months how low idk but it’s not looking good atm.

Not surprised, if true. Friends list is dead. Most show offline for a couple of months. People try a expansion out for a little while, and decide it’s not for them I guess. can’t say I blame them. To many crappy systems to keep up with.

You know their stock is at record highs over a 5 year period right?

Like, you guys are just hopelessly delusional and don’t even bother to check reality.

The game is a huge success and isn’t going anywhere. lol

No it isn’t. The company is going bankrupt. This expansion is an utter failure and ev everyone knows it.

Nobody who actually plays for what it’s meant for actually cares about this.

So there’s gonna be less people on trade chat? Don’t care

The subs have dropped 58% now and are still going down the drain.
Will player housing save the game?

Thanks for the update. I’m glad they are releasing the data to someone as they tend to keep it pretty quiet. Thanks again for sharing.

The subs have dropped another 15% since i posted the 58% drop.
This is just cRAzY!

There will be only you, OP and me playing the game tonight.

Not surprising, it is a bad expansion. No new class to play, boring time sinks that meet Ion’s time played metric for his board reports, a game that favors high end game play for only the Horde, and a disconnected world. Shadowlands is a subpar gaming experience.
