The worst for WoW has yet to come

“This? This is a blessing you simply cannot comprehend.”

The parent company, Activision Blizzard, won’t be letting off. The development will still fall into the hands of Blizzard Entertainment developers, but that won’t stop Activision Blizzard from getting little ideas and projects for devs to fit in. Mark my words, mobile will be the future whether players want it or not, and it will be integrated into our PC experience. Our warcraft Blizzcon panels will have to share time with Warcraft Mobile, and worse, there’s a good chance Warcraft Mobile will come in a way that it’s integrated into our WoW experience; shoehorned, even. And we’ll see WoW panelists coming up on stage awkwardly trying to sell this mobile idea to the playerbase, just like Wyatt Chang did. And they’ll get booed, just like Wyatt Chang was.

Diablo Immortal is nothing compared to what’s coming. I fully expect reaching a point where we’ll need our mobile phones to access certain rewards in WoW, which Blizz will call “optional”. They’ll defend it by saying we don’t really need to play the mobile app and we don’t really need those rewards, but the rewards will definitely be meaningful enough to matter for our progression, and players will begrudgingly download the app anyway for those rewards. It’ll all be to promote mobile.

I don’t know when and I don’t know how, but it’s coming and it’ll make you miss BfA.

The only mobile game I want is an armory app that has all 3 missions tables on it and access to the AH and our banks.

Sure is alot of conclusions you are jumping to.

Pretty sure they said ages ago that WoW will never go mobile. The game is just too large for that platform.

I’ve noticed a pattern over the years, where people will constantly trash a franchise, but 10/20 years later we appreciate it a lot more, as we get frustrated with the new ‘trash’ coming out now.

I mean let’s be honest, all these people insulting star trek discovery for ‘identity politics’ I bet you in 20 years time people will find the show very offensive, given in the first episode its a black person that commits a crime.

Same with wow, we think it sucks today, but two expansions from now we will be talking about how great BFA was.

My point of view with expansions was that Wrath=good, MOP=good, Legion=good, Cata/Wod=bad, and BFA is a little mediocre but I didn’t have high hopes for it as I was expecting it to be a filler expansion anyway.

Mailbox and guild/community chat would be nice too

Why do you keep blaming Activision? BfA is a Blizzard failure, not anyone else’s. I’d take you a little more serious, OP, if you knew how to give credit where credit is due.

Yes. I like that. Pretty much all administrative features. More times than not I find myself spending an hour or two on the weekends just organizng, buying and selling.

They’ve already started /done this, you get 4 extra slots in your backpack for having the mobile authenticator

I bet so. People said WoD was the worst and now people are saying it’s way better.

This Draenei wonders if the word discredit should be used instead.

Like I said, the development of the game falls in the hands of Blizzard Entertainment devs. Azerite gear, ability pruning, bad class design, boring content; that’s Blizzard Entertainment’s fault. And these problems aren’t anything compared to what’s coming. We’ll miss the days when our problems were just bad devs.

There is just no way they would prune/strip this game down to the point it could be slapped on a phone, if you dont believe me, just go ask the Diablo devs…

Who got a relabel of an existing game with new art? Pretty much, that’s spot on, blizz would have to develop a completely new client codebase to even consider it. Then support it on iOS and Android… which gets expensive in a hurry. Hence why even DI went with the relabel route, it’s the only way that makes financial sense.

I could see this happening, I mean look at some of the crap that has been shoveled out by the game industry over the last few years, but if Blizz and Activision is smart they can bring the mobile aspect in to WoW in a good way.

With current technology they won’t be able to make a full fledged WoW game for our phones, but if they can make an addition to the game that could be ok. It’s been said before, make a pet battling app for our phones, that could be cool. Make an Altered Reality mobile game like pokemon go but tie it to professions, like going around the real world looking for archaeology nodes or mining/herb nodes.

The problem would be how do they monetize it without being exploitative, and unbalancing to the core game play? Maybe they can’t, maybe they’d have to make it completely separate from PC WoW. I’m not totally against some sort of mobile WoW game, like the OP though, I don’t have a lot of confidence in Blizzard and Activision right now.

It’s a “Jump to Conclusions” mat! You see, you have this mat, with different CONCLUSIONS written on it that you could JUMP TO!

And Diablo 3 literally did an April Fool’s joke about making a Diablo 3 mobile game.

You mean like how years ago we were rewarded for signing up for the mobile authenticator and the “optional” battle pet reward?

Also lol at the fear mongering. Just because they are making mobile games doesn’t mean they aren’t also making good PC games.
