The Worst Ability in the Game

Slam.

Bar none. This is the worst ability in the game. It’s mediocre at what it does, is super boring, and is the single reason Arms feels like a boring snoozefest. It’s about as popular as tax increases.

Let’s hear what you think the worst ability is and why!

Slice and dice, I dislike spending combo points and energy and a global on a spell that feels like it does nothing because it’s an upkeep spell.

Hey thanks for reminding me why I don’t touch my rogue. You are absolutely right.

I don’t think there is a worst ability, just some useless abilities at certain times

Like for me as a balance druid, regrowth is good when you are in a controlled environment, but if you desperately need to heal yourself and getting low on health, regrowth is useless

Feed Pet.

It actually had a point back when Hunter pets had loyalty. In fact, it was required.

Now, it’s a stupid 50% pet heal, that requires food, can’t be used in combat.

Mend Pet is better, in every way, costs nothing.

It’s a relic from an older time, nothing more than an RP thing now.

Absolutely agreed. I’m leveling a worgen rogue and subtlety is much better. Shadowstrike (I think that’s the name) gives ten seconds of slice and dice when used while in stealth. And it stacks. Love it for questing at least. Might be less useful in groups, not sure, he’s only level 22 or so.

haunt. it haunts my dreams.

Probably horrify or something since you can be horrified… then feared… then get 6 DOTs on you… and you’re super slow… and the warlock has a shield on them now… and their demonic gateway is up… and by the time you even reach them, you have cardiac arrest and die and they port away cackling gleefully.

Earth Shock. A skill you get at low levels even though youll never be in a fight long enough to build the power you need to use it until late levels.

Shadowy Duel – horrible ability. No one should be able to pull you into a pocket dimension randomly where you have no form of counter since it can’t be trinketed and it can’t be ranged.

Roll the bones tops this for me because on top of being an upkeep spell, it’s rng dependent. Doesn’t feel good at all.

Cant’ say I’m familiar with it. What makes it rng?

People really think the “worst spell” is a 50% attack speed buff you need to cast every so often? Assuming you don’t pick one of the talents that does the upkeep for you, you just want it forever?

My pet eats gnomes, so it is a great ability.

You could make a case for Feed Pet potentially speeding their healing between two pulls, but I’d argue that Track Giants is less useful. When was the last time anyone pressed it?

Lol, probably doing that quest in Feralas, where you shrink the giants.

In Vanilla, lol, about 18 years ago?

Lmao, probably the last time I used Track Giants.

At least all Hunter tracking is now a small clickable thing on the minimap, not whole buttons.

Siphon Life. Easily.

Reminds me of Mordekasier from League of Legends. That’s his ultimate ability. Fine when you’re also a brusier character you can fight him.

But if you’re a squishy mage or marksman… pucker up buttercup.

Ugh, this thread hurts me. I recently ran around on my Undead Fem War for a sec and noticed all the animations are some generic garbage and they took out her spin-ball attack. Was hoping at least Slam would trigger it and be cool. Literally nothing redeeming about this ability. Once upon a time i thought it was interesting as a cast melee strike; if they could redesign it so that it was highly rewarding to use while standing still and really winding up a good strike that would make for some good fantasy as well as make it a more unique ability.
