The WorldSoul Saga Secret that Metzen Was Hiding

I absolutely agree that the Quel’thalas zones are not enough to sustain an expansion, but I disagree on how you think Midnight will end. Metzen said that we would “banish the Shadow forever.” That doesn’t sound like the Void will win. It’s sounds like we’ll win, but then we’ll get a strong implication that we just messed up, that we defeated the very check and balance on the Light. This is when the Titans will appear and we’ll learn they’re not as noble as we once thought.

I think people saying Quel’thalas isn’t big enough don’t realize most of the in-game world does not at all reflect what it is in the lore.

Quel’thalas is a LOT bigger than it is in-game currently, this isn’t just gonna be a simple touch up to the existing zones they are very clearly going to make new zones.

I suppose we’ll see on new zones, but they have confirmed they will be upscaling and making the zones they’re working on larger. That is still three zones minimum, and if they do the 4th Zul’Aman zone then there we have it, thats basically the size of Dragonflight.

I imagine they’d just be in a different phases similar to our Bronze Dragon friends in Tirisfal, Blasted Lands, Silithus, etc. Seems like the route overall they’re taking. No more Cata’s where old content is just poof and gone.

Quel’thalas is enough to carry an expansion on it’s own, you guys lack imagination.
We are going to have scourge zone, elven zone, void zone, other elven zones, troll zone, and that from what we already know that is in the region, what new things they will create to fill the expansion? We may even get a totally different region from what it was before.

For me a complete pack would be Lordaeron + Quel’thalas. But I’m satisfied with Quel’thalas being the central point of one expansion.

To be fair, why do they need to be let in? It’s an apocalypse. The Void is trying to take the Sunwell to usher in the darkness. I think every elf and their mother along with the mortal races shall be clamoring to enter and fight. Also, there’s been 20 years of Night Elven settlements off the coast on the island and in parts of the Quel’thelas. We see them in the Void Elf heritage questline. They literally are just chilling there still investigating and the Blood Elves seem okay with them. Most jarring thing is that nobody is bothered… Elves be elves and I suspect that these elves have only grown in numbers.

I dont see a world revamp happening over these next 3 xpacs. At most I could see the world darkening during midnight if they snuff out the Sunwell…but that would probably just be temporary. War Within will probably just be the intro to this 3 part story ending finale…getting into more detail with Azeroth, revealing a bunch of details, introducing Xalataths motivations…etc. Midnight will probably be about Xalatath performing said motivations…which we eventually succeed in stopping or we fail and the Titans come down to Azeroth since its finally corrupted by the void and they want to re-originate it, which we obviously would be against since that means we will all die…so we then fight them…just an assumption.

Revamping zones by making them “a little bit larger” as John Hight said is not enough to bring Quel’thalas up to the size of Dragonflight. Go look for the interview on the cite But Why Tho?

Additionally, last I checked, making a new zone, Zul’Aman, which isn’t currently in the game, is not what I would describe as a “revamp of old zones.”

Have you ever played through the Blood Elf starting zone? You know it’s been stuck in TBC right? Those Night Elves were invaders during TBC that the Horde player character defeats. The zone was never updated in Cata sadly. The same is true for Azuremyst Isle and Bloodmyst Isle.

Also, it’s one thing to let people into Quel’thalas to help protect the lands. It’s another thing to set up camp like you own the place and then making it so players need to help unify you with Blood Elves, like both Elves have an equal claim to the land.

But Metzen said we would “banish the Shadow forever.” How does that imply we lose? I could see us losing in War Within, because he only ever said we’d be called. Banishing the Shadow forever seems more like a win though.

I think not imagining a world revamp suggests a greater lack of imagination.

I have and they were defeated, but not removed. Meaning that during the Void Elf recruitment questline they’re back in which implies they never left. That’s my point. The Night Elves have a whole island base and 20 years later are still there.

You’re not understanding things. Zones that released during Burning Crusade were not updated to the later expansions. It’s the same as how the rest of Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor are stuck in Cataclysm. That doesn’t mean the Cataclysm is still going on during Dragonflight. Likewise, the questing enemies and quests from Burning Crusade are still there even though Burning Crusade ended over a decade ago.

Dude the Night Elf base is where Alleria Windrunner and Alliance players start in Quel’thelas. That is my point. It’s after BC questing and the Alliance player can interact with them. Negating your point. The most recent lore post BC is that this island full of sentinels is still active and that Alleria Windrunner used it as her base of operations while trying to find the mysterious Blood Elves using forbidden Void magics. What part of this don’t you understand? It was a soft retcon they weren’t destroyed or dismantled. They simply were defeated and continue their watch over Thalassian interests and report to the Alliance updates. Hence why Alleria Windrunner went there.

When you say “interact” do you simply mean you can click on them and they talk to you? That’s what happens with every NPC dude. I’ve seen the Void Elf allied quest. That quest takes you to different journal entries in the Ghostlands with Alleria following you. You running into mobs that are stuck in TBC and interacting with them proves nothing. You might not know this, but enemy mobs for one faction appear as friendly for the other faction and you can interact with them.

I know the mob of night elves you’re talking about and that’s literally the first base of Night Elves that Blood Elves killed in TBC. They have nothing to do with the Void Elf allied quest.

Here’s the Void Elf quest dude. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lDTOdlIA0bQ That’s just where Alleria and the Alliance player portal into. At no point does Alleria say a thing about using this mob encampment as a base of operations.

Also, Alleria finds out about the Elves exiled from Silvermoon due to her own trip there. In the Nightborne allied quest, you journey to Silvermoon with Thalyssra and two Nightborne. Once there, you see Alleria unsuccessfully try to recruit the Blood Elves to the Alliance. Then you, and all the characters go to the Sunwell, even though Rommath warns against allowing Alleria near it due to her Void corruption. Lor’themar silences that idea, saying Alleria is still a daughter of Quel’thalas and he will not deny her pilgrimage to their most sacred site. However, shortly once you get to the Sunwell, the void uses Alleria as a conduit to corrupt the well. Rommath yells “this is exactly why I demanded Umbric and his radicals be exiled.” https://youtu.be/x1_YProyQZk?t=362 Here’s the link. I timed it right as you arrive in Silvermoon so you can see the full interaction.

Sorry man, but you’re just reading a lot into the random spot Alleria and the Alliance player portal to. Neither TBC nor Azuremyst Isle nor Bloodmyst Isle were updated. They still to this day remain un-updated.

We don’t know what everything about Ghostlands after TBC, but we do know through the quests that the Blood Elves kill the Night Elves and stop their plans.
