I hope no one read that. This is AI generated crap.
The inability to distinguish the fact that one is paid to write, the other isn’t…
WoW players were never known to be smart overall, but at least make a little effort
asoiaf is probably not what you want blizzard to read for this argument
Well written character with depth and personality.
A high stake world where any character can die at any point, with great foreshadowing.
Great plot twists and betrayal.
I can go on and on. Yes I absolutely meant what I said.
I gave you a like to motivate you to follow your dreams
sure if you want more unnecessary character vomit and more lost plotlines and tropey political intrigue.
not sayin asoiaf is bad btw, just i personally wouldn’t call it peak fantasy as it suffers a lot of the same issues modern wow writing has
Nowhere in there did I ever mention this having prestige or achievement or presenting any type of challenge.
Can you not read ? Are you so desperate to throw an insult that you’re shaking in your seat incapable of finishing the content to which you will devote time to reply to ?
In the end, it’s expected from the usual suspect using terms like ‘‘awww it’s ok’’, ‘‘oh honey’’, ‘‘oh dear’’. You can hold up the mask all you want, everyone knows what you are.
Its only zingers, gaslighting, and strawmanning around these woods

The only place I see people is in current xpac. Leveling = nobody. Doing old content = nobody. (Outside this current event which is night and day for old world activity.) I did parts of Lorewalking for a few zones/continent recently, I never saw a single soul while completely 100%'ing zones. + I’m on a full Server even though shards make it not matter. The world is bigger, yet it feels smaller because seasonal game = 95% of the world does not matter. Maybe you spent enough on the Store to have a good shard!

Retail in it’s current state IS FOMO. Seasonal model = FOMO as a BASELINE. Skip a season ? You just missed on multiple rewards you will never be able to obtain again. And that’s the BASELINE. Challenge mode was FOMO, Collector’s bounty is FOMO. Current goblin event is probably FOMO if it goes away = No T2 Recolor. 20th Anniversary was FOMO. Remix is FOMO. Elite Sets are FOMO. Mage Tower Weapons is FOMO. I can go on and on for hours. Make sure you get your definitions right. Fear of Missing Out. Making content that goes away turns people away from playing. Because for many, what’s the point in playing if the cool things you want aren’t obtainable… It’s not consistent.

The story itself isn’t the whole of what I said. The main plot is not terrible. I primarily mentioned that the writing was - make sure you read please. The characters are bland, soft, toothless, it’s impossible for many to get invested in them. The way the story is being presented is terrible. The idea and the main plot of it isn’t bad, it’s poorly executed. All of this was better in Legion and before. We no longer have Varian, Illidan, Guldan, Arthas, Garrosh, Maeiv etc. We have soft spoken Faerin… It’s night and day, and for many, this is not WoW. The Arathi campaign Quests we’re an absolute embarassement to point out the most recent outrage. Absolutely miserable job done on their part.
I don’t know if you read a lot, I’m guessing you don’t as you even struggle to not twist the points I made & seem to spend your life on the forums, I read 100’s of fantasy & sci-fi books. If WoW was to be rated on Goodreads, the characters especially as the most important aspect of a story and world development would be 0/5 stars. On top of that, you literally NEED to read outside material to not miss out(FOMO! Make sure you buy the books!). There’s more WoW lore on youtube and in Warcraft books. This is terrible. People pay money for the game, not so that people get paid to do lore things on Youtube and in books. Put it in the game. -
You absolutely do. You get free loot EVERY WEEK that is Myth Track, for doing nothing more than a +10 AND IT DOESN’T EVEN NEED TO BE TIMED BTW, so don’t try the ‘‘not everyone can do a +10, everyone can do an untimed 10 with SBA’’. This is INCREDIBLY easy. We have Cartel Chips for big ticket, Being able to transform Crests upward = no need to even do high keys for Gilded, can do ez content and still get it. Everyone in my very casual AoTC guild raiding 4hours a week doing at most 1-4 dungeons a week the first month is BiS within 2 ish month minus 1-2 ultra rare… You’re coping. It’s only harder if you make it hard on yourself by Pugging. Then again that’s your problem since this is, well… It was… an MMORPG.

What does that even mean ? Are you trying to do mental gymnastic and tell me, ‘‘WeLl yOu cAn bE iN sToRmwInD to QuEuE’’? Every single pillar of end game HAS to be queued for it’s not an option -delves. If you’re the kind of 40k post redditmod to tell me, ‘‘Well go spam trade chat to build your group, it’s technically possible’’, then we’re just done here since you’re clearly trying to be intellectually dishonest and there’s nothing to be gained interacting with dishonest individuals.
Every piece of fantasy does not need to be GoT.
“I want to see more people out in the world doing stuff with me!”
sees more people out in the world doing some of the same stuff as them
“LOL CAN’T GET PEOPLE IN THE OPEN WORLD WITHOUT INCENTIVES HUH?”
You’re literally creating a situation where Blizzard is damned if they do and damned if they don’t. I’m perfectly fine with criticizing Blizzard when they screw up, but this is just sad.
The game has always needed these things. Most MMOs do. The only one I’ve played that doesn’t routinely have post-launch adjustments to a notable extent is FFXIV, and that game is now stale and dying.
Your “BiS” gear isn’t trash until it’s upgraded. You’re upgrading the gear incrementally with currencies you already get just for running the stuff you’re running to get the gear. This is no different than older systems for filling out and upgrading low slots.
Then don’t do it.
This is probably the only thing I’d be close to agreeing with you on, and even then I don’t, because the leveling is a symptom of a larger issue, that issue being this is a really, really old game.
Anything as large as WoW is just going to struggle with new player retention, and compared to a majority of MMOs WoW actually handles it pretty well.
The game has been $15/mo since 2004. The price per month relative to the value of the dollar has decreased, not increased.
Forums suffer from the same thing.
Misrepresent and twist as many points made as possible speedrun - Go
I am fine with this.
A game where making a new character is a constant thing to have anything to do, is poorly designed
No, it isnt.
There are an extremely small amount of FOMO seasonal rewards. So small, that calling it baseline is dishonest.
Calling this FOMO shows you are not being honest, or do not know what FOMO is.
Yes. I have never said the writing was good. It was always bad.
And that was not good writing.
Well, since I disagree with you, time to throw out personal statements.
It would have been like t his day 1, with classic, tbc, wotlk.
Raids, m+, delves. All require you to physically go to them.
You called collectors bounty FOMO and stated you can enter M+ from the main city through a queue. On top of that, “you disagree with me, so that obviously means you dont read books”
Nope, I’m just calling it how I see it.
/Cursewords raises a suspicious eyebrow, as he waits for the inevitable right wing tears
Ah, there it is.
I figured somewhere in that jumbled word salad, it would be there.
Strictly speaking, Blizzard was writing fantasy back when GRRM could still see his feet without the assistance of a mirror.
You’re probably not wrong, but dayum.
Parading Metzen around is a marketing tactic. He’s already stated the roadblocks of “Democratized” story telling, meaning they listened to his input and immediately ignored it.
This would be because it’s the newest and thus has both the most relevent content and because for players like myself: I’ve already seen pretty much everything those expansions have to offer short of absurdly remote drops or content specific to race/faction/class.
If we’re being honest with ourselves WoW has been FOMO for decades.
You still need to do the content and it being easy now, when we’re like 22 weeks into the season and everyone is already geared to high hell and all of the mechanics have been figured out is… honestly very silly as a complaint.
You seem to be very mad that in order to do content… you need to use the tools provided by the game?
This all feels very silly.
this is how any writing room works.
