The woes of Trickster

It’s almost like old Combat. So close, yet its design drives you insane in the most inopportune moments, especially in movement fights like anything Dawnbreaker.

  1. Coup de Grace is under-tuned. For something that takes ramp up, it does pretty bad damage (just looks numbers everywhere with all those strikes).

  2. Coup de Grace does not benefit from Echoing Reprimand.

  3. Coup de Grace procs Summarily Dispatched stacks, yet (it’s hard to eyeball) it doesn’t benefit from Summarily Dispatched buffs.

  4. Fatal Flourish is word-mud. Flourish procs from Unseen Blade, Killing Spree, and Coup are tracked independently on their own timers. Seriously, who decided on that?

  5. Killing Spree still sucks.

  6. The window to line up 6-7 Fatal Flourish buffs from Coup/Killing Spree and Summarily Dispatched is next to impossible based on how Coup replaces Dispatch on the Fourth Unseen Blade.

  7. Thousand Cuts is an awful way to RNG fish for Unseen Blade Procs.

  8. Trickster has NO survivability Talents. Talenting into Feint is a double-edged sword not worth contemplating since you literally have to RUN INTO aoe for it to be effective.

Coup is a joke of a skill at the moment. Takes 1.4 seconds on GCD, absolutely kills the rotation for the window, pulls you into melee like Blade rush, and with our 0.8 sec GCD window, is barely equal to using BTE twice while being actually worse than just two back-to-back Dispatches which it replaces in the moment.

None of the hero trees seem to interact with Echoing. I think they just want people to stop using it at this point or something. It doesn’t interact with basically anything that would make sense for it to work with and never has, which is just extremely stupid.

Fatal flourish just feels like a failed concept for a buff. Stacks fall off so fast, and like you said, never line up with CDs without a ton of pre-planning. Thousand cuts just makes this extra painful, with no real control on windows of Coup at that point.

Killing spree needs to be taken out to the pasture and shot at this point. Animation locks like it are just bad, and I don’t know a single other class that has one like this anymore. The legendary axe animation was the closest anyone had to deal with it, and it actually did damage to compensate for it.

Also, I think they’re under the impression that 1 hour tricks is somehow a survivability talent, so they just said “good nuff” and walked away.

I love the concept of it, and the utility, but it needs some massive help.

Ive been testing and it honestly feels like isnt even undertuned its just broken?
the damage is litterly less then a dispatch sometimes its crazy to think this is the big "12 point combo spender i worked to get… it seem quite litterly broken. unless I am crazy…
I really do hope they fix this spec I think it could be fun to play or have a spot in pvp if they made it do what I expect it to do. also the animation lock is kinda brutal il admit.
