You are probably right.
The Void Lords’ avatars have appeared ingame: Xal’atath calls Dimensius’s kind Void Lords!
Dimensius is a high ranking Void Lord too with the lower ranking ones summoned by Warlock Players until they were removed in Legion.
The Void Lords don’t speak in riddles like their servants do. They are pretty upfront about consuming everything.
Blizzard wanted to revisit the old characters from WC 2, but didn’t want to actually write or deal with plot for WoD, so AU Draenor exists in a bubble separate from it’s own timeline.
It’s ironic. When it was announced, they compared it to Star Trek, but then said “don’t worry, you’re in good hands” and were then even lazier than Star Trek was about their AUs.
