ok so the first 15 seconds of The War Within (Track 1 on the soundtrack) is identical to Valheim’s Welcome to Valheim - Menu Music. Specificly the violin or cello part.
What gives…

Can you specify or link what War Within track you are referring to? I found the original sountrack on youtube and the first track is just the menu song and that section at 15 seconds has been a recurring motif in wow expansion intros as long as I can even remember, which is way before valheims time. It also sounds nothing like it anyway.
Eh, maybe slightly similar but I don’t think it’s plagiarism at all.
Valheim has very different vibes with its music.
check the World of Warcraft youtube channel. They posted the soundtrack there.
Then yeah, read my original post. That musical piece pre-dates valheim by literally 16 years.
I swear i keep hear beatles music intermix in the game music. I also recall when BC came out, adventurering outside Silvermoon city I kept hear Pink Floyd notes shine on crazy diamond.

I actually think the music is the best it’s been in a long time. Kudos to those who created it. Even if it’s Valheim or whoever.
the link you posted was the vanilla soundtrack not the war within soundtrack. Its the same music you are hearing when you log into wow before you select your character. just the first 15 seconds. It is similar to the WOTLK horde launch zone music, the name escapes me, but it sounds way to close to the Valheim song specifically the violin melody.
Its interesting. Was curious if anyone else thought the same.
Did you… just not even read my post?
The section you are referring to in the war within song is a recurring theme they use in every expansion theme. Even if you believe they sound similar blizzard isn’t the one who stole it.
yes i ignored it because I’ve been playing wow since nearly the beginning and those 15 seconds are pretty distinctive.
They’re literally so different:
War Within first 15 seconds is the following: G-Ab-Bb-eb-d-Bb-Bb-f-G-eb-d-c
Valheim is: A-D-E-F-D-C#/Db-F-G-A-D-Bb-C-A-Bb et cetera
They’re similar in color and mood, and that’s about it. The melodies are completely different.
It isn’t, though.
As an aside, though, give the Arathi Memorial soundtrack a listen. It’s beautiful.
An average middle or working class person should not be concerned in the slightest about one large company plagiarizing from another, not to mention there’s no way Blizzard would be confident enough to brazenly plagiarize.
IMO. One part of Dornogal’s music is very similar to the sailing music in Valhiem.
