Your goalposts must be on a space shuttle at the rate you keep moving them.
I mean it dont take a genius to figure out people dont like it, and give them better rewards to get them back in
So you’re telling me, that when people who weren’t used to pushing past 10s in the first place, are now opening with 10s…are going to run 5 failed dungeons back to back, thinking “this is great I’m going to do this every day!”
People tend to get disheartened and stop after 2-3 failures in a row. But you think someone who never moved past the old 2-10 range, is suddenly going to be pushing the current 12-15 range with no failures and everything is going to be grand and hunkydory?
Talk about being delusional.
Someone who ran 5 keys in the 2-10 range in DF S3 isn’t going to continue to run 5 dungeons in TWW when the entry point to their dungeon running is already beyond the skill level they had prior.
They don’t just get better overnight because the dungeons got buffed over night.
Maybe not difficulty nerfs, but seriously, Raiding needs help.
We’re actively making M+ easier and more rewarding because Delves infringed on its lower half of rewards. That’s realistically what’s happened.
But M+ devoured Raiding below the Mythic level starting in BfA if not Legion, and Raiding never got ANY changes to help alleviate that fact. Never got easier, never got more loot, no lockout changes, it’s still just a statistically awful way to gear in the modern game and really only survives at all because they intentionally throw 2 or 3 OP items in per raid to bait people into participating.
(Again, below the Mythic level. Mythic Raiding is fine. It’s the pinnacle and it should be. Changes there should be removing the archaic Raid ID lockout system, if anything)
Mythic raiding has become increasingly infuriating over the years and needs sweeping reforms.
Blizzard doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. Key depletion help (if you can call it that) only for the few percent along with no affixes. Should be the other way around. The 3k mount will not save M+ from people just “piece out” no more than glad mounts did for PvP. PvP is a GD joke now in terms of participation.
Time for a new set of leadership.
The mental gymnastics is cute but a 74% drop off during the season is indeed above 67% which is a supermajority but you are free to continue shoving your head in the sand pretending everything is fine and M+ was flourishing.
Almost like old content is boring.
People beat it, and move on.
And people beat raid, and also don’t care for m+ anymore.
If raid didn’t prop up m+, there would be fewer runs.
And to hell with everybody else. They’re even removing the tier piece you get from the meta achievement, giving a catalyst charge instead… which you’ll need to use on something you get from M+.
Blizzard’s obsession with propping up M+ to the exclusion of the rest of the game is alarming.
Delves will still be easier, and m+ numbers will take another hit probably.
Blizzard isn’t going to try and prop up M+ numbers by tapping into Delve players; that’s not their standard M.O. They always prop up other content participation by breaking the backs of raiders.
Blizz makes delves easier or more rewarding, m+ numbers prob decline.
Blizzard makes m+ easier, and delves more rewarding.
Raid difficulty probably remains inconsistent from tier to tier.
They’re reducing the amount of tier you get.
“Go run M+ instead, to use the catalyst charge!” they say.
And it was not a masterplan to revitalize PVP by dangling gear in front of it ![]()
Change doesn’t make sense unless if we get more than one charge.
Blizzard should remove depletion entirely. People have the ability to lower their keys manually and that should be the only way they can be lowered. What’s been done here is nothing more than the same catering to certain groups that’s always taken place so they can keep that sub going and fill their coffers.
Keys going down caters to more people than not.
I approve of these changes:
- Keys below a +7 were entirely pointless to run before. On my fresh alts I would go from +0s and heroic straight into +8s and higher.
- The -15s death penalty being on +7-10 keys made 0 sense. These are keys people are farming for gear, not IO score.
- Moving the death penalty to +12s, keeping the weekly affix, offering more gilded, and making it so your key doesn’t drop is a very good change. This should keep people who can do +12s out of farming +10s and making it harder for lower IO players to move up.
I don’t approve of these changes:
- No alt catch-up for M+ crests. It’s an absolutely miserable experience having to farm 40-50 M+ keys mid-season just to max out on crests.
- Changes being incredibly slow in M+ in regards to class balance. Were constantly running into situations where it’s a 1 tank and a 1-2 healer meta the entire season. Anyone can open up the leaderboards and see some specs have <2% representation on the most difficult keys.
- In regards to #2… trying to push keys on non-fotm classes is a teeth pulling experience.
I still don’t get why Blizzard keeps trying to prop up M+ as an end game pillar. It has been just an utter failure since day 1 when they implemented into Legion. They have never been able to properly balance it with the rest of the endgame.
They have been trying for years now to replace raiding as the main focus in WoW with these gimmicky systems like M+ and even Delves for that matter. I think WoW worked it’s best when raids were the sole focus on the endgame. Instead of making raiding more accessible, they chose to try to shoehorn Greater Rifts into WoW from Diablo in order to pad player retention.
These changes just prove that M+ players just want easy loot.
I’m totally stealing this. Also, super hilarious over the reason it was utilized and to whom it concerned. Absolutely true.
