Is there anyone else that hit the kobold storyline and realized how unfun this whole thing is? i feel like im just doing world quests and this is supposed to be the main story campaign? what is going on!?
Yes, i started playing WWI base edition today and I agree with you. Feels really rehashed and decentralized main city thats too spread out. Frankly I was enjoying what I was doing more as a lull between expansions–building out my garrison from Warloads of Draenor on my engineer and grinding Scholomance for the old transmog storyline they added in Patch 10.1.5 more than whats going in the Delves. Who cares about what’s going on down there. Not visually appealing. I actually liked Torghast better for that solo grinding feeling. This feels really low effort.
Also the game seems to be getting more and more childish like i feel like Im playing a game for 7 year olds visually. I like the darker look of Stratholme etc. And will probably go back to grinding in Eastern Plaguelands for transmogs.
Tell me you skipped through every quest text and cinematic in the main story without telling me you skipped it all…
Blizzard said they plan on improving the story since gameplay is in a good place now.
Are there poop quests this time?
I think after the 5th “click the things I say” quest I realized WoW may be creatively bankrupt in quest design
(They already were storywise).
Tell me you watched Preach’s bought-and-paid-for shill video without telling me
You no take candle.
I haven’t actually.
I do have some criticisms with the main story, I’d give it a 7/10 and there are parts which annoyed me and there are parts that were really good. But the story is significantly better than it has been the past few expansions.
Again, I haven’t seen his video. Do you want me to post 5+ paragraphs on what I disliked in the story?
SL had its great moments, Sire Denathrius and Castle Nathria were excellent. But SL was horrible in many other ways destroying lore beyond repair and being a complete mess with 9.1 and dropped off a cliff.
So which virtue signaling? Please elaborate.
Female Dwarfs with beards (in most fantasy lore they do) is grasping at straws.
Faerin Lothar? I’m still on the fence. The story did give a reasonable explanation as to why she is missing and eye and missing an arm. She was a stow away child, eventually became a soldier and was overconfident and paid with losing an arm and eye. I’m still not a fan of her though the VA performance was grating half the time.
Bro wow retail been a formula for 10 years now.
Ever understood how item level works? Lolol
One number that goes up or down by X per Y.
Game has been linear forever
That was the dumbest take to defend modern wow’s low effort I’ve seen in a while, but at least he’s honest and not pretending he’s clever or smart. I appreciate the honesty.
I’m at the Kobold part and it’s… alright so far. It’s another WoW story.
I don’t think it’s terrible but it’s definitely not the best story nor even the best MMO or WoW story I’ve seen. I’m enjoying it more than the last few expansions so far, but that bar is so low it’s been embedded in the ground.
My biggest overarching complaint is probably that so far they’re not even really giving their own story time to cook. Isle of Dorn was over really quickly and one of the main NPCs died off before I even really got to know him.
I don’t know if they’ve back-loaded the quests in Hallowfall and Azj-Kahet, but the Ringing Deeps also looks to have only 3 chapters according to my quest log.
Notably I am focused on the main story right now. I’ve heard there are a few good side quests along the way somewhere, but I’m not judging those at the moment. Hopefully they let me see more of the stuff going on in the zones, but I’d have liked to spend a bit more time with the main characters too.
Bro out here on chapter one of a book and calling it boring
Doing the advanced dragon races is nice. The rest of the solo content is kinda low C tier, gameplay wise. Story waxes and wanes. Some of it brilliant on the side quest end, but all the MSQ is so god damn safe its embarrassing.
I wish I had more stuff to do in Dorn. Im not feeling the Ringing Deeps. Feel like im in a sewer or something.
Uhh lol ok.
New zone. new raid. New dungeons.
Same gear formula… and go.
Pretty much the same take
I liked the kuo-toa.
I liked the storyline so far . The cinematics were with more dialogue and not action … But this will change … or at least I hope so …
hay wats goin on in this thread!?!
Books are generally supposed to grab your attention in the first chapter no?
I mean most books I like have that “Well you had my interest. But now you have my attention” when the story hooks into you.
Judging the ENTIRE book before the plot can even really get going is silly imo
Heck the last book I read I wasn’t interested enough to hyperfocus until like. Actually hold up lemme look
Around 180ish pages in a 1k page book.
Just give it a bit.
