The War Within Hotfixes - October 16

You can still do the quests, the skip just adds a flag to your character that lets you bypass the requirements.

If you want to figure out what you need to do to unlock a quest try grabbing the addon BTW Quests, and it’s TWW expansion, the quest tree’s are very simple to use and it can direct you to who you need to talk to.

Restoring guild banks when?

Templar hammer of light bug actually made the class exciting to play and gave it a different feel to herald of the sun. Templar feels like a big miss in class fantasy and in game play. Also lightsmith for holy Paladin is in the same boat, doesn’t feel cool or unique to play and it’s not impactful. Really no reason the play it over herald of the sun.

Achievements

  • Fixed an issue that resulted in the Machine-Warden title being incorrectly granted to all players. It is now properly granted by the achievement It’s Not Much, But It’s Honest Work.
  • General’s Scouting Shadecaster has been removed from the achievement Itsy Bitsy Spider.

Classes

  • Death Knight
    • An issue causing Trollbane’s Icy Fury to display as snare mechanic on creatures that are immune to snares has been resolved.
  • Monk
    • Fixed an issue where Clarity of Purpose was not correctly triggered by Gusts of Mist from several spells.
  • Shaman
    • Stormbringer
      • An issue causing Arc Discharge to make Lightning Bolt deal damage as though Maelstrom Weapon was spent has been resolved.
  • Warlock
    • Demonology
      • Fixed an issue where Succulent Soul would be consumed by an already cast Hand of Gul’dan.

Delves

  • Combat resurrections are now a shared resource, starting with 1 charge and recharging every 10 minutes.
  • Reduced the maximum stack count of the Rage-Filled Idol to 10 (was 20).
  • Fixed an issue that caused the Rage-Filled Idol to interrupt Brann when he wants to eat food and rest.
  • Fixed an issue where Rage-Filled Idol did not properly rank up.
  • Fixed an issue where Glibb could aggro enemies that aren’t in combat.
  • Reduced the amount of health and damage that delve enemies increase by when other players are added to the group.
  • Fixed an issue where Brann could create a campfire while standing in Nerubian webs.
  • Increased the cooldowns of Brann’s interrupt, stun/root clear, and dispel.
    • Developers’ notes: When internally playtesting higher tier delves and Zekvir’s Lair, we felt that Brann was providing too much output. While Brann should feel useful with these abilities, we don’t want him to completely trivialize the mechanics and challenges players face.

Dungeons

  • Item level 350 is now required to queue for Random The War Within dungeons.
  • The Dawnbreaker
    • The flight speed of Steady Flight has been increased while in the Dawnbreaker dungeon.
    • Anub’ikkaj now spawns in a fixed location and no longer patrols.
    • The 3 lieutenants that empower Anub’ikkaj now have updated map markers.
    • Removed the map markers for Mereldar Holdout points.
    • Updated The Dawnbreaker marker icon.

Items and Rewards

  • Turning in wax to Middles in Gundargaz now awards 5 Valorstones (was 10). Additionally, after the first 25 turn-ins per week (on each character), each subsequent wax turn-in will award the player with Resonance Crystals instead.
  • Draconic Gladiator’s Tabard from Dragonflight Season 4 should now use the correct icon.
  • All healer specializations may now roll need on Spymaster’s Web and acquire it from their Great Vault. Fixed an issue where some spells (such as Judgment) would not trigger its effects.

Player versus Player

  • Vicious Bloodstone can now sometimes drop from end-of-match victory boxes.
  • Reduced the cost of Glorious Contender’s Strongbox purchases to 3500 (was 5000).
  • Forged Competitor’s Heraldry drops from Glorious Contender’s Strongboxes have been slightly reduced.
  • Reduced the cost of the Vicious Jeweler’s Setting to 5000 Honor and 3 Vicious Bloodstones (was 9750 Honor and 2 Vicious Bloodstones).
    • Developers’ notes: This change is a net 2250 reduction in total honor cost if purchased outright. By moving the remaining 2500 into an additional Vicious Bloodstone, we hope to keep the excitement of Vicious Bloodstone drops high while allowing players to purchase, trade, or gift this reagent. As a reminder, Vicious Bloodstones are not soulbound and can be purchased with honor directly or can sometimes drop from War Mode activities and end-of-match victory boxes.

Professions

  • Blacksmithing
    • Fixed an issue with Dredger’s Plate Breastplate not getting skill from proper sources.
  • Enchanting
    • Added a Shatter recipe to Khaz Algar Enchanting, allowing you to turn Gleaming Shards into Storm Dust. The quality of Gleaming Shard limits the quality of Storm Dust you can get from the Shatter, with the quality of Storm Dust otherwise determined by a combination of your Enchanting skill and Uncommon Utilitarian specialization.

Quests

  • Fixed an issue with “Delver’s Call” quests where the quest log would display a different amount of XP rewarded while in a delve.
  • The quest “Searching the Web” for the questline “Grieve and Weave” is now available to Warband characters who have not finished the overall campaign.

Races

  • Earthen now have an additional racial, Quiet Contemplation. Take a load off your feet and enjoy your newfound freedom to see the world while recovering your health and mana out of combat.

This is just a bad change.

Valorstones aren’t seasonally capped. Alot of times you are either starving for them or you are capped at 2k.

Please revert the change or give us another good way to grind Valorstones which dont give actual player power to gear (as 4/8 adventure gear and 8/8 explorer gear are the last upgrades where you don’t use crests).

Why is it that we’re forced to jump through hoops with new characters before we can adjust our UI to our liking!? What does going through story points have to do with our UI?? I can’t have my action bar and character icon out of the way until I deal with it for 10+ levels with my 7th character on my account!? Noncense plain and simple.

First there was a nerf to bundles then now a nerf to the valor. I don’t really have words to explain how bad I think this is.

So, are Holy and Disc Priest players that sometimes venture into Delves solo going to see compensation for this in some manner given that we have no interrupt to leverage and require Bran’s help to kick things?

Like, maybe, I don’t know an interrupt we could talent into? Could Bran at least kick more often for those two specs if we’re not going to be granted an interrupt?

You don’t have fear or the stun? I have those as holy.

Please fix the Pit Lord. It’s STILL just a floating torso.

Thank you!

Blizzard once again enforcing that they don’t want people to enjoy the game.

Unreal.

Absolutely unreal.

Double-smacked, as if limiting it to the first 25 turn-ins á 10 Valorstones wouldn’t be enough of a nerf.

Good changes overall, but can you please also remove the wind that pushes you when flying to the side ships before the first boss? I remember playing it the first week of beta without the wind, then when the wind was added the entire group i tested with was incredibly unhappy with it (which seems to be a near universal opinion). It DOES NOT add any fun, flavor, or feeling of accomplishment to the dungeon. It DOES make it significantly more likely that you will clip through the entire ship as you try to land however, which is incredibly aggravating.

There is also a bug on the dawnbreaker with abilities like vengeful retreat, which send you in unexpected directions (likely based off how the ship is moving). This is incredibly serious for havoc, as that is a short CD rotational button even in “low mover” builds, and having it randomly send you to the left/right/front when it is supposed to send you backwards can easily kill you in even medium sized keys.

The Uncommon Utilitatian node mentions getting bonus storm dust from disenchanting. Does this apply to shattering as well?

Yeah i think this is just one of those things that makes people sad for no real benefit. I just dont see the reason for making this change. If it was MASSIVELY more efficient than i guess the first part makes sense, but why put a weekly cap on it? If it really had to be nerfed this hard then you might as well have just removed valorstones from it entirely, because 50 stones for 25 turn-ins once a week is nothing.

Normal dungeons are giving 554 item level even when season 1 has started and yes I am talking about max level players (80).

Is this intended or is it a bug?

I was wondering when someone would mention this nonsense.

This is my first forum post because the wax nerf is just so egregious to me, like an 80% nerf to valorstone gain is ridiculous. The 25 turn-in cap is frankly offensive. If you do the math, you would have to accumulate 150 individual waxes (not an easy feat for a casual player like me) and then in return you get a maximum of 50 valorstones? For a system that absolutely requires you to complete high end content to gain crests? That are already season capped? I would agree with a less restrictive nerf, say, 5 valorstones per turn in, and remove the weekly turn-in cap. It’s not like you can transfer the stones through your warband anyway. As it stands, youre better off just completing a Heroic dungeon queue and get more bang for your buck. Outside of the very limited applications for the Rubies, i just don’t see a point to engage with this content. The whole nerf smacks of someone getting mad about what was a fair way to gather additional valorstones. Really hope they roll back this change and its nice to see that others agree with me.

Can we take a look at why when i try to do a delve as a tank if i pull more than 2 mobs on an tier 8 i require 2m hps and all my defensives to live at 590ilvl but i can 2 man the same exact delve at t8 with a buddy as 2 dps and not struggle at all at 585ilvl

Blizz you know you suck right? I’d start quoting mall rats about where your finger is currently instead of being on the pulse of the community. But I think I’d get banned. Would you like a chocolate covered pretzel?. The wax farm nerf is precisely why we know you actually hate fun. Fun is powerful gear. What’s not fun is the hoops you want is to jump through for it .

I do. How are those working for you on boss abilities at the End of Delves? Let me know what your secret to success is.
