The War Within Early Access is a Mistake

You should REALLY talk to some Hall of Fame players, if you think this.

(You’ve got at least 1 in this thread telling folks this is much ado about nothing.)

I’ll tell you it doesn’t matter, and the only thing I’d be defending is people’s wallets and attempt to prevent anxiety and hand wringing over nothing.

It’s a nothing burger from the perspective of progression in game. But it’s not a nothing burger in terms of the reality that it’s paying extra to play the game on time. It’s quite literally “pay extra or you have to wait 3 days to play the expansion that’s already out”. Not only that but even if I wanted to log in and do stuff in DF for the last 3 days I couldn’t because the servers will be on fire like an expansion launch(because it is one).

So you’re upset that people who play early will be playing early but you won’t play early because you couldn’t play early because too many other people are playing early.

Sounds like you’re complaining just to complain.

(Goes for all the complainers in this thread, btw.)

You’re being deliberately obtuse. At least I hope so. Please read it again and respond properly.

I read it several times and the final sentence still makes no sense.

I mean, you said:

So, following that line of thinking…early access is irrelevant because people won’t be able to play anyway. Because the servers won’t be functional.

Some people like Brewa don’t care if the game has pay to win elements. And that is their choice, but for some reason they can’t seem to accept that others dislike the notion of it.

Of course, we’re all just here stating our opinion and sometimes you just have to agree to disagree.

Which makes it even worse. My issue is that you’re paying extra to play the game on time. It’s a side thing that it will also affect my ability to play normally even if I don’t have the get the game on time epic edition.

I might care, if it ever did. But since it doesn’t have anything remotely close, I don’t.

The first 2 weeks of expansions these days are a desert, there’s almost nothing to do. It’s why I don’t even bother taking time off to play at launch anymore, I just end up playing other games.

I’m more than happy letting the aggressive fanatics crowd through zones.

Again, it’s not about progression and I’m not taking off any special days for launch. There being a 2 week padding before the season gets going is not really relevant. If anything it makes this whole thing a worse idea. My position is simply that if you buy an expansion, then you should be able to play that expansion when it launches(minus obvious technical issues). However, simply buying the expansion is not enough to gain access to it on time anymore because EA is the real launch date regardless of the “official” one they come up with later on.

Life pro tip y’all, this is false.

Some people see a debate as an intellectual exercise, some people just like to point out flaws in thinking, some people just like to argue, some people just like to stick their nose into and have their say on every little thing, and so on.

Not everyone has to be emotionally invested in a topic in order to form an opinion on it. In fact, it is better when one isn’t, as they are able to be more logical evaluating a subject and therefore able to form a more objective opinion.

But it is not an actual advantage.

According to players in this thread, it can be turned into an advantage but, in of itself, it is not, because a player would still need to actually do those things in order to gain the advantage.

So a player still must play the game to earn the goodies unlike actual P2W where the player is handed the goodies in exchange for cash.

And no, whether or not Blizzard includes three day early access does not matter to me. I have never purchased an epic edition, never will (and certainly have no intention of purchasing Warthin at all) and, since I am a solo casual, the whole ‘advantage’ thing does not impact me one way or another.

I only posted in the first place because I found the original post incredibly shallow and self-involved and wanted to give a different perspective.

Or in this case, a lot of us are telling people to calm down because this isn’t important.

Just looks like another incentive to pre order, but I don’t do that personally. It’s a “if you want to” kinda thing. I can see an argument for greediness of blizzard, but thats about it.
There’s no benefit. Alot of content isnt available during the early access.

EARLY ACCESS GO BRRRRR
here I go
