The forums seem to like to assume that the war within will be a massive failure or whatever maybe. But one thing is for sure about the forums is that the forums just loves to assume on stuff that they don’t know anything about. The amount of cynicism and negativity it’s like anything Post-Shadowlands expansions are just automatically bad expansions and making assumptions of all the expansions after shadowlands is gonna be the same and nothing will change.
And here we are yet again War Within cynicism is on high if you don’t believe in the game anymore maybe leave and play something else. I don’t get people that obviously don’t like the game anymore then why even stay or maybe they just wanna stay and just be negative towards the game in general no matter what blizzard does at this point nothing will convince these group of people.
Even during dragonflights launch and the whole expansion these same people and with the same amount of cynicism. Still, believe that the game is still the same as shadowlands and that the developers aren’t listening or whatever else. Even after dragonflight and yet still these people are still being negative about the game. I highly doubt that the Worldsoul saga would ever change these people’s minds.
I was here at the end of Legion (where hopes were high about BFA) and BFA (where hopes were high about SL). Pattern recognition. That said, Dragonflight has been pretty well received overall, so maybe the pattern isn’t perpetual. Overall the only real issue I have with Dragonflight is that too many things that should go in the currency tab just don’t for some reason. If that gets fixed in TWW, I’m happy.
Where might the critical attitude come from? Hmm, perhaps from three bad expansions in a row, none of which achieved a user score higher than 4/10. Maybe it’s also due to all the stuff Blizzard as a company has done in general? Or maybe it’s simply the fact that a low-budget version of Dwarves 3.0 as a “new” race along with an underground expansion isn’t a reason for hype.
But yes, white knights are obviously so much better than perpetual critics. Everything Blizzard produces is flawless. xD
Most do. DF is generally very well regarded. The OP made a thread a few days ago decrying the criticism of shadowlands though. So who knows what their standards are
That said, while I don’t think it is as prevalent as the OP suggests, I do also find the pre-emptive negativity exhausting a lot of the time. I think criticism has a place, and people aren’t wrong for having a gut reaction to the things that were announced as headliners. Such as earthen, underground zones, and hero talents. A person might reasonably see those things and just not be impressed, and that’s fine. But where I think it becomes tedious to me is when they immediately leap from not being impressed by the headlines to declaring that the whole expansion will be bad. There is just so much more to a game than the headlines.
I’ll bet my two cents that the Worldsoul saga will no doubt be reviewed bombed on metacritic just like what they did to dragonflight expansion. So, yeah I don’t trust user scores these days due to them being so incredibly dishonest and untrustworthy.
Doesn’t matter. I’m sick of having to keep around a billion things on my bags for grinds I’ll “eventually get to” when it they were in the currency tab they would be quietly out of the way.
Yup. Which is why some of us get nervous when we see Andies raging about it being too hard and top players saying it’s boring. The Andies are going to ruin it. If it’s already somewhat boring and they nerf it even more, it’s already over for Warthin.
Be as passive aggressive as you wish. It’s always amusing to see how some people feel the need to defend a company like Blizzard and react with aggression to any form of criticism.^^
