I am so irritated about how many Blizzard shills have picked up the “oh, if you’re not interested in Anduin, I guess you’re not interested in mental health and serious drama” defense for it.
I’m not interested in Anduin because he sucks.

Anduin stinky
Seriously when’s the last time that man had a bath. Someone scrub that grime off that guy and get him some clean laundry. It smells like tears and super hell
If War Within was a Power Wash Simulator level where you chased him around the interior of Azeroth trying to clean him, that might be fun.
What if when you turn on crab mode, he turns into a crab and now he just smells like a the ocean.
Crab Mode… tsk. What would it say about me if I were to admit to using spiders pets on a hunter in pvp just for the off chance my opponent suffered crippling arachnophobia?
Well, I know that I suck and it has nothing to do with my lack of interest in Anduin.
Chuckles
Why just this past Saturday I was leveling a new warrior alt dwarf concept in Northshire and got killed by one of the orcs on my way to take out Kurtok the Slayer.
Years of playing this game and things like that still happen to me.
Honestly, for me, its less the ‘wah wah mental illness’ and more ‘gifted kid burn-out’ that makes my sympathetic to Anduin. This is WoW, every major character has depression and PTSD by this point because Trauma is apparently a good substitute for character development before Dragonflight came out …
The poor guy never had a chance, and never got a break.
His mother was killed and his father went into a depressive spiral, meaning Anduin never had his parents around. Varian was about as supportive to Anduin as a cactus is to a fully-body hug, and most of what makes Anduin Anduin is the efforts of the servants in his life, and his general good nature.
He then got put under the care of a regent and had Katrina Black-Dragon Prestor whispering in his ear and poisoning the Court around him, all the while the Court of Nobles constantly tried to undermine and puppet him so they could rule Stormwind from the sidelines, he’s dodged at least one out-and-out assassination attempt before he turned ten, his father showed back up and was quite literally half the man he used to be, a besotted fop who did whatever Katrina Prestor demanded, then the other half of his father showed up, the two were imperfectly fused back together and once again Anduin had to be the parent to his own father to stop the kingdom from descending into chaos again.
I could write pages about how the writers of WoW have knocked Anduin to the ground just so we could watch him stand up and try again. I just want our Boi to be happy as a person, for once, and not a King or a Hero. Let Anduin grieve, heal, and move on as Anduin, not a Wrynn.
I’m happy to see Anduin again, personally. Shadowlands soured me a bit, but I’ve been fondly remembering that bright young boy who we helped in Cata and Pandaria, and I’m once again a fan. I’m interested to see where this goes for him. Gentarn’s right, poor boy needs a win.
I can no longer die happy until Crabduin is real.
oh I like this take but also…
Same! We need crab anduin and while we’re at it, everyone, make everyone into crabs!! EMBRACE CARCINIZATION
What makes it worse is that this is WoW.
Find problem => gather MacGuffinites => FIGHT GOD => Use MacGuffinites on problem => FOR GREAT JUSTICE
And the problem is, that mental illness and mental issues don’t just magically vanish when you start treatment. At best, medication will make you feel empty, or numb, or you might have a small burst of energy that allows you to get a basic amount of stuff done or extend your social battery by a few hours. It doesn’t majestically fix all your problems.
Blizzard has advanced leaps and bounds in how they tackle issues in their game between Shadowlands and Dragonflight, but its still Blizzard. Even with Metzen back in the mix, The Cosby Crew all fired or leaving and HR screaming like Sylvanas at anyone trying to push the old nonsense, I have my doubts about them trying to tie the vast amount of trauma that Anduin, let alone the rest of the characters in the setting, has accrued being magically fixed with a girlfriend or a magical macguffinite or being filled with God The Light. It just doesn’t work like that, even in fantasy, and we get so many people who still run around saying “Just be happy!” or “You’re not trying hard enough!” or “Have you tried Jesus?”, they do not need more confirmation bias from any more sources.
Collect ten Traumablooms to cure Anduin’s PTSD.
Please kind elf. I too just need ten Traumablooms but I am a lowly level 35 Monk just trying to complete the quest chain. Could you please show me mercy and allow me to collect what I need and move on?
I would be glad if Blizz narrative-handwaved away Anduin’s trauma. He might actually be interesting, or at the very least be less weepy.
I mean, it’s time to address the elephant in the room.
There’s a longstanding tradition and expectation in WoW that beating the crap out of someone can make them mentally healthy again.

I was beginning to wonder if anybody even believes in physical therapy as a treatment for gloomy spring days.
Since resubbing and finding myself spending more time on WrA Alliance, I’ve spent most of that time in WM, because I can and it’s fun. I’ve had one Belf Mage just bow his pointy little ears at me and walk away. I feel like a…

Your beard intimidated him. He thought it was best to just move along in his shame.

There are not enough Dio references on these forums.

Here's a look at all of the new weapons and armor from War Within questing. Edit 4/23: We've added many more armor tints to our post!
The leather set here in particular is a good reason for making all gear either cosmetic or account-bound.
If Norman here wasn’t my main and instead I mained my hunters or clothies or plate-wearers, I would probably be raging more right now than I care to admit.
It’s like a mining / firefighter helm. It’s amazing. It should be cosmetic and usable by all.
