The vote kick system needs major rework

I’m not gonna sit here and defend those you kicked you OP, but the system as is functions well enough. You just ran into some bad apples is all.

Look if Google can auto correct typos in real time and predict what you want to search for, WoW can figure out if you’re a griefer more accurately. There are canned machine learning libraries for this kind of crap these days.

That still doesn’t change the fact that organized groups are a better experience, especially for folks will low skill.

You offering to pay for that, because I certainly am not.

inb4 “Blizz makes a lot of money!” When/if you enter the real world you will learn that companies don’t piss away money because someone on the forums got their panties in a pinch over a 30m debuff.

LFD isn’t for organized groups. It exists for controlled chaos if anything.

Never said it was.

If someone cares about that, then by all means go to M+. LFD is a LOW EFFORT environment, NOT SPEED RUN.

You can keep capitalizing words, doesn’t change the fact that your friend could have avoided the issue entirely and enjoyed the game.

Why do you keep equating a premade group of 2-3 people queuing for a random together as a “SPEED RUN”? You know you can just queue with 2 other friends & go your own pace, right?

Lies. Everyone knows if you queue with people it automatically makes you want to go fast.

Because elitist jerks in the group kicked me because I was not following a speed clear meta and trying to do the dungeon quests again. BRD. I know, not surprising right, but it’s a problem with the game. Blizzard should just put up walls and yoink the quests like they did with Sunken temple! Even if the do that, vote kick still an issue – as others have pointed out the reason people get vote kicked in LFD is often “lol” or something similar. Vote kicking by elitists with an ego to pump is a big problem.

Is this like listening to fast music while driving makes you drive faster or new shoes makes you run faster?

Exactly!

There is always more to the story. My instincts tell me that

Translates to

Unless you’re telling me the interaction went like this:

Mauddeeps: Can we do this quest?
Group: No, now we’re kicking you.

There’s generally no reason to kick anyone in LFD unless they’re AFK. WoW LFD is the most casual, least challenging experience of any MMO out there, and yet it has MORE ISSUES with vote kicking than other titles. What!?

If someone ACTUALLY griefs you, simple fix: just enable vote kicking after the time in which you stop getting the dungeon deserter debuff. At least if vote kick gets abused then, you don’t get the damn deserter debuff.

What if a player does nothing but trail behind the group, tagging mobs every few minutes to avoid getting kicked for inactivity?

Apparently you’re just supposed to be patient with them until the dungeon requeue timer runs out so that when you kick them they don’t get the deserter debuff.

Usually those types go ahead of the tank and pull because the tank isn’t going fast enough, then the tank gets vote kicked for not pulling enough because an elitist jerk wants to speed run the dungeon.

BUT

if you really want , just disable vote kick during the time period where you get dungeon deserter… which is what, 10-15 min? At worst your LFD run of BRD detention block would last 20 minutes instead of 5 – whatever – that’s what LFD entails. If people want to speed level in dungeons they should – find their own static group.

If people want to complete all the optional quests in dungeons they should – find their own static group.

Disagree. You should be able to kick for any reason you like with the required number of votes.

It’s up to the group to decide whether kicking the person will result in a faster or less annoying run.

Don’t be crap or annoying and you won’t get kicked.

Only thing I agree on is that it shouldn’t give deserter if you were kicked. Didn’t realize that, as i’ve never been kicked.
