The Void Fears Undeath

No. It wasn’t Zovaal. It’s undeath.

Zovaal is unmade. A non entity. Completely gone.
So, Ve’nari bringing it up now has purpose.

It’s nice to see Blizzard hit the mark every now and again.

I could have sworn this has been canon since at least the WOTLK, no? Part of the main reason saronite doesn’t affect Death Knights is due to the Voids wariness and apprehension of the realm/sphere of death?

That and undeath is completely anathema to oblivion.

Yea its been hinted at before, we will see if anything comes of it this time.

Sylvanas upon having a chunk of her Soul removed had Darkness flow in to fill the Void.

Sylvanas incidentally was having her desire to aid Zovaal slowly be eroded away according to her Novel with her dismissing it as tied to her Undeath rather than something filling her Soul.

No doubt the Darkness is what pushed Sylvanas to say “I will never serve!”

If Light is the Heart then Darkness is Cold Logic.

Void is Infinite Possibilities.

Incidentally everyone fears the Starry Void due to the Nathrezim directing the Starry Void against everyone.

Is Darkness the true enemy or is it just Zereth Umbra’s Cosmic Force with the Starry Void just being the opposite of the Realm of Time we see in Dawn of the Infinite?

Don’t think I haven’t noticed that Devourer Enemy in Revendreth using a Spell named Hungering Void!

I suspect the Devourers serve True Nothingness(the same that clashed with the Light creating the Cosmos) while the Void Lords and Old Gods serving Space the counterpart to Time.

Yeah but a couple folks kept screaming “NO IT WAS ZOVAAL!!” any time I brought it up to reference that Forsaken – not void elves, who are self admittedly constantly on the precipice of becoming slaves of the void – are the best champions to fight the void and its lords.

Once upon a time shadow was undeath.

Xal goes “I am sure you do” giving a slight hint maybe Venari is wrong. That maybe the void isnt afraid of Undeath but something related to it. Maybe not even neccesarily the Jailer.

That teasers it. Sylvanas will be back and place the Ace against the Void. Might be the sole saving grace of Midnight.

Sylvanas is coming back for Midnight. That was never in doubt.
But I wouldn’t get my hopes up about it being good.
She’s Horde adjacent, after all.

Maybe Blizzard has learned their lesson that killing too many Horde heroes is not good for the story. I want to stay optimistic.

Past behavior is the best predictor of current and future behavior.

Wait, I thought any cosmic force could create undead. So doesn’t that mean Void can do it too? In that case, why would Void fear one of its own abilities?

I’m confused.

Undead seem particularly skilled at soul trap.

The void lords says that Death is the end of all possibilities.

Yeah, point of order, but the Shadowlands and the Maw aren’t “undeath” they’re Death. And in Warcraft Death is more a case or reusing, remaking and recycling then it is a final, absolute entropic end point, which I guess is supposed to be what’s freaking out the Void? Things don’t end when they die, they just become other things.

I wonder if it isn’t because Death DOES end all, “possibilities.”

Souls in the Shadowlands are the sum combination of the various aspects of different timelines. In other words, there are realities where Garrosh was the greatest warchief of all time, the savior of Draenor, the true master of the Burning Legion after offing Sargeras and taking his place, etc… but when he dies, all of those, “possibilities,” are converged into his one soul.

So yeah, from that perspective, Death really IS the end of all, “possibilities.”

I think that’s the endgame, but you can’t really stop Maldraxxus’s military without destroying the soul. Could the void do it? Sure. But Maldraxxus already won wars against them anyway, if their graveyard is any indication.

Last I checked, I can still body a shadow priest. So everything is still making sense to me.

Daily reminder that nuNecromancy is dumb.
