The Vassal of life

One of Ill’gynoth’s whispers is “The vassal of life disguises treachery. Beware the eyes of green.” I was watching The fall of the lich king ending cinematic when i realized something. Arthas has green eyes. Arthas has necromantic magics, and we all know necromancy raises people from the dead. Could it be possible that life holds sway over death and undeath because before you die, you are obviously alive? If this is the case, would that make Arthas the vassal of life? But the real question is, will Blizzard bring back Arthas in Shadowlands?

Last I heard, he’ll have minor cameo appearances, nothing major. His story has been wrapped up and they’re satisfied with it.

The only reason I’d want to see him again is as an example of what someone who actually belongs in the maw experiences.

Good god, I hope not.

For Arthas i have speculated that he is here already. For the eyes of green i don’t know i have a mental note to check all the eyes in Shadowlands.

There is an off chance that they are not being literal, and they are referring to the feeling of jealousy. There has been a lot of love in the story lately. Maybe jealousy becomes a plot point. Similar to Pride and the various emotions the Sha manipulate. I say this because jealousy and green eyes are related, in an allegorical sense.

I think he will return in some capacity and in a manner few will like.

It’s probably Ysera that who that whisper refers to.

Blizzard isn’t subtle with their hints, and I think a lot of people don’t understand that “Beware the eyes of green” doesn’t actually mean “beware green eyes.”

It’s probably referring to the eyes of one who is green. Like, hmm… the green aspect herself! Who got a new model in SL with an eye color change. With actual lore reasons behind it.

Eye Color changed to Blue. Are you saying that the Green One’s Eyes changing from White to Blue is something we should be distrusting?

Sure? You know the story behind it right? Ysera’s pod gets damaged by the Drust and the Winter Queen is forced to tie Ysera’s life force to Ardenweald in order to save her. Meaning that just like the Winter Queen, if Ardenweald dies, Ysera too will die.

Also, the Drust are still a looming threat which could be related.

Tying the Life Force of someone who was corrupted enough by N’Zoth’s Nightmare to manifest the Nightmare’s Corruption into Ardenweald is obviously going to cause Ardenweald to start becoming Red and Black in places…

Drust are current guiding wills of Yogg-Saron’s Nightmare.

Basically we are going to get a clash between a Nightmare empowered by the survival of Ardenweald vs a Nightmare empowered by the destruction of Ardenweald. Nightmare vs Nightmare in other words.

Uh… no.

You completely made that one up.

No.

Ysera has N’Zoth’s Nightmare Corruption at the least regardless of whether or not anything comes of it!

She has dreams about her past. Also, are you just going to brush off how you completely made up a Drust connection to Yogg’saron?

Yogg-Saron’s Nightmare. Thros the Blighted Lands is called the Nightmare by Blizzard!

The Nightmare when the Drust got access to it was Yogg-Saron’s Nightmare not N’Zoth’s! N’Zoth only gained power over the Nightmare following Yogg-Saron’s defeat according to Chronicle Vol.3 which specifically states that Yogg-Saron controlled the Nightmare until his defeat.

Thros the Blighted Lands and thus Drust Death Magics is Yogg-Saron’s Nightmare corruption(probably no longer under his control) not N’Zoth’s!

They’re both dead. Where is the evidence they are acting on behalf of Yogg? Because we’re explicitly told their motive is to get back into the cycle of life and death.

On his behalf? That’s what you were assuming?

I was practically stating that since their Magic was Yogg-Saron’s Nightmare and since they rule Thros/Yogg-Saron’s Nightmare they were now practically in control of it and thus directing and spreading it on their own behalf for their own goals

Said goals namely being their own resurrection presumably leaving Ardenweald to die into oblivion while Yogg-Saron’s now aimless(with Yogg-Saron dead) Nightmare remains in the Emerald Dream with nothing but Yogg-Saron’s aimless Corruption and ghosts chained up for eternity.

And also, it’s not Yogg’saron’s Nightmare anymore, as you said. It became N’zoth’s. They live in Thros, which is just a part of the Nightmare.

Yogg’saron’s remains in the Nightmare? Where’d you get that from?

Who’s they? The people that said that at the time, or the people that are running things now? I feel like nothing is sacred now and completed stories will be dug back up because… don’t know what else to do.

Pretty sure it was said at the last Blizzcon.
