The upcoming Goblin D.R.I.V.E

I wonder if it’ll be fast enough to go from one end of a continent to the other end, doing cool stunts and drifting. If I have the power on my computer I’d probably make some sick videos about it!

Would be absolutely HILARIOUS if said vehicles can go faster than our skyriding mounts.

That would also be SUPER FUN. You would actually need to know when to speed up or slow down because its only a matter of time before you run into a tree.

Or into a Ogre’s plump belly.

Imagine if we could to shift up gears manually! If there was a gauge that showed optimal time to upshift and rewarded you with a short speed boost. I’d probably just spend hours cruising around the world, once this opens to the rest of the game.

Doubt it will happen but would live to see the mechanic on other ground mounts. Would like to ground surf on my carpet Indy style.

I will take every opportunity to say how much I’m going to enjoy the drifting mechanism

slideways through blackrock mountain is a phrase I didn’t think I’d get to say

I’m very excited to try it out. I love Blizzard is always coming up with ways to make traversal fun. First Skyriding and now D.R.I.V.E.

Someone on the forums suggested they were working on dynamic flying for ground mounts. I rejected that notion outright. This appears to have been what the rumor was ab out … so… I stand corrected… this looks really fun. Buzzing around in the Warthog was one of my favorite parts of Halo… I hope this is similar…

Dynamic flying I’m fine with. Took me forever to learn it, due to some disability issues, but I’ve got a lot of space to work with.

Ground speed like that? Nope. I can’t even do driving games at all. Not going to try on this one. I’m either skipping 11.1 entirely or slogging through it slowly with a regular ground mount, since we’re getting screwed out of flying.

I believe D.R.I.V.E will only be allowed in Undermine. Maybe required for the dungeon. Maybe the system will expand after the live beta testing is over. Similar to Skyriding.

I’m hoping that it becomes so popular that we’ll see it not only added to other zones (besides Undermine) but that we’ll see new vehicle forms and expanded mechanics. I’ve wanted to see this added since the Goblin Hot Rod.

And I’d love to see race track delves and race track raid/battleground races!

For sure there will be world event races… like Dragonriding racing…

That sucks, I’m hoping one of the new Delves uses it.

That “continent” is about 3 miles wide LUL

This feels like it’s going to be the ground mounts version of skyriding. I hope it turns out good.

Pretty sure D.R.I.V.E will only work in Undermine. Maybe it will be expanded upon in the future, but I also believe they confirmed it won’t be used in the new dungeon or raid.

Initially yea, just like Dragonflight was one continent at first. I think it has the potential to expand in a similar way as flying has.

You’ll be able to still use normal ground mounts, just won’t be as fast.

I wonder what wall/obstacle collision will be like. If you’re boosting and hit something solid, will you just do a near-instant stop (sort of like what happens if you skyride into the ground at max speed)? Will you take fall… er… collision damage? Will there be a system that tries to bounce you away from objects so you still maintain some speed after a collision?
