While doing The untethered Void after getting my cloak I accepted the untethered void quest.
I do not get credit in the campaign log when I enter or exit the untethered space.
I do get the text that pops up on screen noting that I’ve completed the quest requirements.
Shad’anis has the completed quest marker above it’s head, however there is no completed quest button to hit.
I’ve tried: Logging out, relogging, leaving the zone, and dropping the quest and trying again. None of this has worked.
same thing is happening to me, although i get credit for phasing (it doesnt actually phase) and then it wont give me credit for coming back to normal space
Yep, same here.
I am having a similar issue. I cannot interact with the conduit as the quest giver says to do to leave the untethered space. I can right click the buff off to return, but that does not provide credit. I’ve tried to relog, abandon the quest from both normal space and untethered space and pick it back up again.
ETA: turns out, it was an extra action button to leave VS clicking the conduit like you do to enter the space. How annoying.
Okay. I got the quest to complete.
I went and completed another normal quest then returned. It allowed me to progress.
Yeah, I’m still not having any luck. No idea why the extra action button is lost to the ether.
Edit: Went old school. Got on a mount, went high up, dismounted and died. Rez’d up and voila…tale as old as time. Was able to phase and like magic, the extra action button appeared.
20 years and still doing the same thing.

I’m clicking the conduit. Phasing finishes its cast. I go nowhere, no untethered space, just normal space, but still get credit for entering. No action button appears. Press conduit again, cast happens and then nothing.

I was on the verge of doing this, but I instead left the zone and went to Dornogal to sort things in the bank, upgrade a few things, did a few world quests, then returned. I was probably gone from the zone 30+ minutes, but what matters is it worked. Not that any quest worked as expected… well, unless it was as expected from any Blizzard coding.
Happy this helped you. After all these years, I didn’t think just to start with the old mount up and die trick. I went all technical…ah well…
I thought I was having this problem, but it looks like it may be just the wrong icon in the dialog box. Not sure if this is the same for others. But when I clicked on the conduit and then came back, the icon over the quest-giver changed (to a completed one) but then when I clicked on them to turn it in it showed as incomplete in the dialog box.
Thing is, when I clicked on the uncompleted icon in the quest-give dialog it allowed me to complete the quest.
I had the same issue. Weirdly enough, I went to the person you’re supposed to turn the quest into (In Shan’Dorah) and talked with her and Lo and behold, I was able to turn the quest in, despite the “Return to Ka’Resh” objective not being completed, so I dunno, maybe just try talking to the quest giver?
For anyone still having trouble:
Phase using the conduit then unphase with the action button like it tells you to, regardless of whether it updates the quest tracker or not. After unphasing, click the quest giver and you’ll see the quest greyed out. Click the greyed out quest option and it will let you complete.

Absolutely gobsmacked this worked for me. Stuck on quest, so did the earth crater trick. When i resurrected voila, i have the icon to return to normal space when i stepped on the pad. Thank you for retro reminder.
So I figured it out… You have to make sure the reshii wraps cloak is equipped to be able to click on the phase conduit. I felt so dumb after this. I literally tried everything. I hope this helps someone.
