Man, I’d love to see Dalaran get ‘parked’ somewhere and return to the ground. Hell, just imagine the cinematic. That’d be epic.
It would be cool, but after what happened to them during WC3, I don’t for see them landing again. I could be wrong though.
Some people look at everything as a personal attack. It has something to do with maturity level and not having left the personal fable stage of psychological development.
Noiceeeee! And yeah, given how Thori’dal is irradiating Arcane Energy , it’s a nice touch to have her gems and eyes glowing with purple arcane.
It’s very interesting that while it seems that continued exposure to arcaneis what gave HE’s the blue eye glow, condensed arcane has a pruple one (as also seen with Valeera in the comic) but only present while “channeled”
I love how they don’t look quite human tho! The iris looks more like an iridescent disc without pupil and just lighter on the center.
Conspiracy Theorizing Intensifies
I have for a long time hoped they made Vereesa lean more into the arcane given her context (Wife of a Mage, leader of a faction that consists of a lot of mages and sister of 2 rangers that also have unique powers)
Making Vereesa more of a “Spellbow” could be an interesting direction as it is a class combo really left unexplored lorewise even when Arcane Shot has been a staple of Hunters since forever.
To be honest, my own personal wish list would be using this kind of look - I’m honestly not the biggest fan of the eye glow. If the AR were ever to become a thing it would be really cool for it to at least be an option (if not a core part of how their visuals were made distinct from other Thalassians).
So if we got gnomes for the horde and mecha gnomes would that not take away from your gnomish identity?
Same! Personally when I draw High Elves, I draw their eyes mostly human looking, just making the whites a biiit on the blue side, but give them white pupils as the in game models have. (For blood elves, I make the “whites” only like a shade removed from green or gold, to show their eye are more “saturated” with magic)
But I am certainly digging the “iridescent disc” iris, I think I’m gonna try my hand at that style
As of right now, Mecha Gnomes are a mystery. We don’t know anything about them. What direction they go is unknown until the patch drops.
High Elves ARE a known. They’ve been shown to largely be part of the Alliance, from the various lodges in the old world, to the Allerian Stronghold from Oultand, to the recurring Silver Covenant introduced in Wrath.
If you see a High Elf, its a pretty big chance it’s gonna be on the Alliance, or at the very least Alliance friendly.
I find the Hearthstone notion that Thori’dal is in Dalaran very interesting -In the Card Artwork, Thori’dal is shown with Dalaran as a background, maybe the Silver Enclave specifically) Why did it end up there? Was it being safekept there and Vereesa is wielding it to fight of the invasion? Or in the HS universe Vereesa is its wielder?
Yeah, I find it rather curious myself. I grinded the Sunwell on and off for several years until it dropped for me. (Ironically it dropped before the Greatsword of the Sin’dorei did…)
One thing that I thought was a missed opportunity was that the artwork shows her firing enchanted arrows… but the bow actually fires these sweet looking bolts of light. I guess arrows were easier to draw/recognize?
Or maybe it’s just another re-imagining since the bow in-game doesn’t have that purple/pink glow. It’s more like a bright light blue.
Thori’dal was/is Halduron’s weapon in WoW (thought it’s not verified as canon, we just see him with it in Silvermoon, but, like Liadrin wielding Quel’delar from WoD to Legion, only to drop it for a unique weapon in BfA, it may not be canon).
In Legion, Halduron as a Hunter follower was using a generic crossbow instead of Thori’dal, while Thori’dal was displayed in the walls of the Hunter hall with many other hunter weapons.
If Vereesa wielding Thori’dal ends up migrating into canon, I wonder what story could be behind it… Did Halduron gift it to her? They are friends and respect each other, after all.
(And, secret shame of mine, I kinda ship the two since Rhonin’s death, but in a platonic way in that neither of them are willing to admit their feelings nor is willing to abandon their faction).
For the people saying Alliance High Elves will take away the Horde Blood Elf identity…What do you think Pandaren are?
I was always baffled by the decision to give Halduron a generic crossbow in Legion. The proud Ranger-General of Silvermoon… downgrading from a legendary bow to a dinky crossbow.
Has the Horde had a group of Gnomes that were part of their identity for twenty years?
Also, you don’t have to choose a random race. This isn’t a hypothetical question. it’s happened. Did the Horde getting some Night Elves take away from the Night Elf identity?
Yeah, I thought the same. It felt so wrong!
Also, you’re asking this like if the Horde was going to get some Junkergnomes we would be upset.
I’d love that trade. You can have Junkergnomes. We get High Elves.
Nah. Out of respect for everyone who comes in here to be productive I’m full-on putting my energy into enjoying the good parts of this thread, supporting the cause, and not feeding you, Lydon, and Fyre anymore.
GL in your efforts to subvert this thread. Don’t think it’s going to work but power to ya.
You people talking “stealing Horde identity” should be complaining about Alliance Shamans then, Shamans are very core in the Horde identity.
You people are late, faction differences were diminished in Burning Crusade already.
