he Alliance should get High Elves as a playable race, but I think Blizzard should change their name. Because other than being called High Elves, they are nothing like them.

this is essentially a large crux of the problem. modern high elves are not high elves as we have known them in the past. They should have a different name but all they are referred as is high elves.
