The true High Elf Solution

why do you believe all of those blood elves would switch to alliance? why do you believe ANY of them would?

They are on the horde because they want to play on the horde. They chose belf because they liked the look of that horde race.

Vulpera and Zandalari could absolutely destroy the Alliance population

I believe a fair few of them would. And I was there when the Horde originally got blood elves and suddenly we were inundated with new Alliance recruits, very few of them swapped because they really loved lok’taring ogars.

Neither of them are literally identical to the Alliance’s most populous race.

The last time we ran population numbers it would take 30% of all blood elves to faction swap to alliance to make the faction imbalance worse than it already is. That was a year ago. The faction imbalance is much worse now than it was then.

There are many ways to make them different and not lose their identity, ex: Silver covenant or Half elves.

The true solution is fire, lots and lots of fire. It is also kind of our thing now when dealing with elves.

This might be one of the worst solutions I have ever seen OP.

All that you mention is a very moot point considering that High Elves are already part of the alliance. The schism already happened for the elves, that’s already done. The whole Garrosh issue was not a dealbreaker for the elves that never left the alliance and are still part of it til this day.

And even so, your logic on this is kinda flawed, cause Blood Elves have already left the horde and joined the alliance as Void Elves.

As much as you think “Blood Elves Hate Humans because WC3” is some inalienable fact and the reason they are Horde, do you forget Lor’themar was actually in talks to return to the alliance during MoP?

Elves used to hate Orcs and Trolls as well, but when they also moved past that when the need arose.

Sure there are Blood Elves that hate humans with a passion, but just in the same measure some High Elves hate Orcs. They are extremes of what ostensively is a rather pragmatic population.

I see this sentiment a lot, and I kinda agree that holistically -and speaking about swapping races- the most fair trade would be giving the Horde the most popular Alliance model, which is humans. And yeah, that could be done with Alteraci Humans, or perhaps, Fleshy undead like Nathanos.

Still, I have to be critical of the idea that the BE model being available on the alliance would cripple the horde pop, because it assumes -with no evidence- that most BE players are forced to be on the Horde because of them, rather than playing them because they are their favorite race IN the Horde.

Cause that’s the thing, if the same race is ostensively on both factions, why do people presume Horde players would leave their communities and their advantages en masse for the alliance? Do you really think the RPers and Lore Nerds that feel forced to play Horde really are such a large swath?

Having played Horde since before Blood Elves were a thing I have to say belf players are often a little different from other Horde players. The majority of people I know who main belf only have belf characters and a fair few talk about how ‘ugly’ the other Horde races are. Obviously this is just what I’ve observed personally so I could be entirely off here, but given the choice I’m inclined to think a fair chunk belf players are more likely to be drawn to the Alliance than the Horde.

Not just that but new characters are a thing. When I was making a priest I made a human because I just didn’t think any of the Horde races other than belf really fit the priest transmogs. The shift caused by adding high elves mightn’t be immediate from faction changes but from a longer term drain on new character creations.
