But you see? It’s all a matter of skill! That gold doesn’t give them any unfair advantage! Those guilds are just so much better than everyone else, even though WoW’s combat system is really easy. /s

I disagree. The advice to “just join a guild” is given because they remember the last time they helped another mythic raid team member by carrying his alt, knowing that he would carry their alt. The people who suggest this don’t want you in their guild because you couldn’t carry their alts.
Most people, ie nobodies, who belong to guilds get no help from those guilds. The people who volunteer to help in gchat are worse than they are but don’t realize it. Silence from the people with skills. They have to pug all their own content.

Tho It requires some leadership which not all people have.
I’d say there is just too much focus on having a high IQ and not a high EQ to go along with it, in game and in the world.

A friend of mine is in that position. Some guilds do behave in the way you describe just as some companies do.
But my response still stands in that they are not comparable challenges. You can guarantee get on any class/spec and as long as you’re willing to lead and create pug groups you will succeed and get better ingame. I failed two keys in the last two days. I beat 6.
In real life, you can join as shift lead of a large Japanese company and both work and lead queue management for 7 months, lose 3 employees that you manage without being able to hire more , still make it work and have nothing to show for appreciation for it.
People like you will always make excuses as to why you treat people badly in life and in wow. Must have something to do with the fact that you deserve your participation trophies and free stuff while other people should pay to play for the privilege of finding you awesome.
It sounds like your only “drive to succeed” is to be able to declare you are better at doing entertainment than other people who keep their computer chairs warm exactly as you do.
Do you lay awake at night worrying that other people are drinking their coffee wrong and buttering their toast wrong and need you to stop them?

I am not against a UBI in theory, but in practice, I think that the problem with it is that governments will simply use it to gain more control over people…

Selling tokens led to massive inflation. 300 million gold would probably be every player combined 15 years ago. Just like new leadership will do to the dollar. Printing more money and wasting it.
