Step in the right direction? Yes

Actually enforceable? Doubt it.

Time to put a bunch of those beasties down.

No doubt its enforceable. Blizzard has already been actioning people for using broadcasting software.

Nooo! No need to euthanize all those cute floofies. They can be repurposed as hunter pets!

This doesn’t change anything.

The people that game gold to sell for really money make so much profit so quickly that by the time they are banned they have already made so much money that buying new accounts doesn’t too anything.

This entire time people have still been using input software, it takes a week for them to get banned. That means they have had a week to farm

Only if people want to keep starting new accounts over and over to replaced banned ones and that’s going to get expensive.

This is clearly nonsense. I’m sorry they have made decisions you do not like but you do disservice to your own arguments with such clear spin.

That’s what I do also.

I mean
i see people alt tab multibox gathering all the time, this really isn’t going to end much.

And you think people who have hardware setups aren’t smart enough to get around this anyway? You can’t detect external hardware, it has to go off reports, just send your inputs at random intervals and not all at the same time.

Honestly though
wish they wouldn’t have done any of this, mat prices are through the roof.

you can still multibox without hardware or software broadcasting.

Good. It’s about time. Silencing the multibox troll brigade will be good for the game, the community in general, and even the forums.

Her and the dwarf both and their alt army. At least if he was still playing. I’m concerned a bit about Kaurmine since last I knew he was using hardware inputs as a work around.

I was content with just software bans as a compromise but this is totally good for me too. Now if only we could make CRZ opt-in ;x A girl can dream.

Either way these kind of player supportive changes are making me consider coming back.

Edit: CRZ not sharding

This would not be ok. The policy they put out quite clearly and explicitly banned keystroke broadcasting software.

Infractions from this point forward are an entirely seperate matter. If they had used language that was more vague or added “or other such means to achieve these same results” type language it would be different. When you make a clear and unambiguous rule, and they did despite people trying to cloud the issue when the first policy was enacted, then actioning beyond it is entirely wrong. The correct remedy is the one they have taken. Clarify and extend your rules to include those cases you failed to account for in your original rule.
