don’t get me wrong, they’re awesome. but like… horde armor on a night-elf mount, and night-elf armor on a horde mount? makes my head hurt. the only thing keeping me from being even more confused, is the fact i’m headcanon-ing these mounts both as mounts meant for nightborne.
nightborne are night elves (sorta) with a mana addiction, and are on the horde. these mounts are horde/night-elf themed, ergo… they’re nightborne mounts.
…that’s all i got. other than that, i’m sad the weapons for the heroic-or-whatever edition of tww are on the trading post. i’m disappointed blizzard… i’m disappointed. not a ton, since i don’t use the mog, but c’mon man!

To be fair, that’s not Horde armor on a Night Elf Mount or Night Elf armor on a Horde mount.
That’s Horde armor on a Nightsaber and Night Elf armor on a Worg.
Neither faction has exclusive rights to animals.
Obviously Night Elves have lots of Nightsabers and Orcs have lots of Worgs, so we can associate those mounts with those people.
But it’s not unthinkable that an Orc could tame a Nightsaber or a Night Elf could tame a Worg.
In fact, one of the Ancients that Night Elves revere is a Worg God called Goldrinn. That Worg mount with Night Elf armor could be used by a Night Elf that is close to Goldrinn or something.

There’s a little lore blurb for the mounts in your mount journal that explain it.

I mean the flavor text on both mounts literally explains them.
The nightsabers were found as kittens by some grunts and raised to be mounts, and the wolves were captured in a raid and respect whoever is strongest.

I love the mounts. Just think of them as they were saved from the war.
Blizzard: “here is a mount for the memes”
What weapons? I have the epic edition and only got mount, armor, pet and toy.
They’re also inconsistent on the coloring of the mounts. The wolf is all Alliance looking (other than being a wolf), and the Horde one is an alliance color mount with horde color armor.
Design team has no attention to detail or concept of the bigger picture (releasing transmog that doesn’t go with anything except itself).
Small indie company run off free interns, I guess.
Yep, I was just about to say this. If you look at them in the Trading Post it tells you, too.
That’s… the entire point…

wtf are you talking about
It’s a white wolf with blue Alliance armor. Are you imagining that the purple nightsaber is somehow “alliance colored” because it’s purple?
Stupid thing to say and then follow up with this braindead meme:
Wait until you find out there’s more mounts like these.
Your head just might asplode!
They are referring to the weapons that go with the Stormrider sets. There is a 1H hammer for each of the four colors that the Stormrider set comes in.
[Edit: Examples]
It’s a black panther with savage bone and tusk armor. My orc rogue looks like something off a heavy metal album cover.
The wolf is kind of hard to get excited about
Someone (you) doesn’t understand the theme, so I guess that means the devs are slacking?
I’m never shy about calling them out when they deserve it, but this was uncalled for.

Yeah that’s what I thought and they don’t COME with the pre ordering so was confused.
Edit:I just re-read what the OP said and I get what they mean now. The weapons should have been included WITH the pre-order. Eh can’t win 'em all.

Although I would say the wolf is more night elf looking and goes well with my night elf hunter, I think both look great. I kind of wish they had more cats with more horde like armor, metal, fire, spikes etc, but this one will do for some alts.

see, i know about and have those mounts. they made sense to me in a ‘ha-ha, now we’ve got the opposite faction’s mounts!’ ironic, enemy-faction-mocking sort of way. but these ones feel different.
like, my brain always associates nightsabers with the night-elves. always. every single time. it’s like how it associates undead horses with the forsaken, or raptors with the trolls. seeing it in orc-ish armor just… feels weird. it’d be like seeing an undead horse in night-elf armor.
maybe it’s the colours or something, but red (or… orangey-red) armor on a purple cat? i don’t like it. those colours just don’t look good to me.
the wolf? i’m not gonna lie, i kind of find it forgettable. purple on white’s a good colour, but like… it’s SO similar to the ironclad frostclaw, that my mind’s kinda just pretending it’s just a second one (which it might be, for all i know, it’s got the same model afterall, and the armor is similar, aside from the colour…). but hey, atleast it’s not another horse mount!
i dunno, it just… these mounts feel weird to me. i both like, and dislike’em at the same time, and it’s hard to say why.
but hey, that’s just me.
