There’s tinker units in warcraft 3.
And tinker NPCs have been around since vanilla with Gelbin exploding tinker popularity with players since his mech debute in legion.
I hope if they ever add a class like this, it’s a ranged physical dps. It’s the only play style I really resonate with.
You know what’d be funny, if Blizzard said that and never did it. Whenever asked they’ll say “We’re working on it” when they are not.

I still hate race restrictions. Just get rid of it. It’s no wonder why Demon Hunters are played less for a reason. Because there’s lack of other race choices.
That’s why the Tinkerers/Engineers should have Dwarves, Humans, Draeneis, Worgens, Void Elves, Orcs, Undead, Blood Elves, and etc besides just Gnomes and Goblins…

I can understand your point of view. I personally love class restrictions. I find those classes more immersive. I know that’s currently an unpopular opinion.
I believe Tinker should be race restricted. It’s not that other races don’t use tech, it’s the fact that Tinker is very much a gnomish and goblin specific class. Goblins have the Tinkers’ Union, Gnomes have the Tinkers’ Court and Mechagnomes have the High Tinkertory. Opening Tinker to all races makes Tinker generic. I would rather see Tinker be more thematic to each race. Imagine how cool it would be to have gnomish style mechs, bots and abilities vs. the goblin type. This should be the ultimate Goblin vs. Gnome tech battle. Same abilities but different visuals! Now … putting all my silly feelz to the side, there’s also a logical reason to keep it restricted. If Tinker uses mechs, they need to be smaller than what we currently have as mounts. Give Horde an Undermine Goblin Allied Race (1920s Mobster themed) and that makes four thematic options to choose from. I’m also all for other tech classes for other races.
