The Timewalking 'scaling' is a problem

Initially when this was brought up, this was before people made dedicated level 11s for the purpose. I stated that it’s fine that lower levels can participate on more equal footing to max folks, even if the scaling is more favoring to the lower levels. I’ll still be able to hit things, get some loot, maybe get lucky with the mount and go about my day.

…No. This has become a problem, and I know the event isn’t much longer, but it is such a problem that devs should look back on this failure of balancing and strive to avoid it at all costs.

Every single dungeon is now having a dedicated level 11 just cleaving through everything, often skipping all but the last boss for dungeon credit. My last run in Dire Maul, the one with the Elf boss, was over in a minute. I didn’t even have the chance to attack anything.

It’s one thing to have low levels out DPS me in this content. In fact I fully welcome it. It becomes a problem where I can’t even play the game because the scaling has been picked apart to the point that the dungeons aren’t nostalgic, they’re over in minutes tops.

It feels weird being max level and not being able to participate in a weekly event. Not because I don’t want to do it, like pet battles, but because folks have fine tuned themselves to stomp the life out of it.

Too late to fix, but at least don’t let it happen again. I used to do TW dungeons for fun and a chance for the mount. They sure aren’t that anymore.

I wish I’d get one of these level 11s in my group

Would love to just afk at entrance and get tons of exp

WoW has had the worst scaling in any MMORPGs I’ve played in my life.

It’s nothing new, they somehow can’t figure it out.

I do understand the merits of folks wanting to knock out their weekly, but I boot up the game to…play the game.

Over various games I’ve seen boosting services and to me that just doesn’t sound fun? It kinda defeats the purpose of playing for me.

Oh God, not this again.

Leave the Twinks alone, they’re providing a great service to the rest of us.

I mean, do you REALLY need to take a scenic tour of Stratholme for the 60th time?

I’m just here for my quick EXP/Weekly.

How long should a Timewalking dungeon take? If it was up to you OP?

I’m here for the weekly too, but I’d rather participate in an activity than be told "you can just AFK at start our 11 has this  ".

I understand many players just want to get their weekly done and move on regardless what it is, but if it’s asking people not to even participate as someone by themselves rolls over an entire dungeon in two minutes?

I’m sorry, that’s not my vibe and I see it as a problem.

I dunno, ten minutes? Used to take around that long before this change. That was around a regular Heroic or something.

The length isn’t important to me, if I’m queueing up to hit things in a game about hitting things…Well, I’d like to be able to have the opportunity to hit things if it’s asking me to do something for a weekly.

I haven’t done most of the dungeons from older xpacs, people really be thinking new players magically travel back in time to play all the xpacs upon their release XD

I don’t think I have yet to run Stratholme, that name doesn’t sound familiar at all

So, money question here.

Why were you in that dungeon? Why did you queue up? What were you trying to achieve?

Everyone I know that runs TW, they run it because they’re leveling a toon, after a credit for the quest, farming for badges, or hoping for the mount.

I’m sure someone, somewhere wanted the tourist run of Dire Maul.

I’m just curious why you’re there?

Y’all must be getting much luckier with seeing level 11’s than me. I think I’ve been with 3 in the last 2 weeks.

I want the weekly done, same as almost everyone else. I have all the mogs I want from TWing, but a Timereaver drop would be nice. I also used to run them just for fun when everything I wanted to do in a week is done. A quick, relatively low stress run, maybe chat with some folks, and be done with it in around an hour.

Again, I want to emphasize: The issue isn’t that the run is fast, it’s more I’m potentially unable and even discouraged to play the game. Maybe I’m old fashioned but when a game loads up I want to, y’know, play.

When the best advise you’re given in this current era of TWing is “afk at start”, that sounds like a problem to me.

They have an in game solution for that, form your own group. The same 6 people alt hopping to make the same post repeatedly is annoying.

I don’t have an idea what you are talk about? I post on one character and one character alone. Although if you find such threads annoying I’m not sure what prompted you to respond.

Suppose you could ignore a thread as easy as you can say ‘make your own group’ and have folks not be interested as soon as you say you’re not bringing a carry.

I get it, my opinion is clearly in the minority here, but it’s been bugging me since around the halfway point and it reached a head today.

Nice, time to power level some alts.

The solution to your “problem” is, as always, to make your own group if you want instanced content done in a particular way. Otherwise, majority rules. You’re welcome to try to convince your other party members to kick your free run.

But you don’t want solutions, I know. You’re here because this is the hot troll topic of the week.

It’s time walking during a celebration where exp bonuses are up the wazzoo. Make and alt and join in the power trip or just follow along and collect your transmog.

The less time I have to spend in TW the better. Should just leave the scaling the same as it is in the original. Who care if I can pull the whole dungeon and pop them all with a single holy nova

I don’t see how this is a problem. If anything, that’s awesome. Get those TW done crazy fast, nyooom!

is there an endgame in this for the level 11?

What is their benefit?

Is it mainly so scream though an instance or is there more to it?

This isnt a TW issue. Its an anniversary issue.

They get those tokens for spamming TW dungeons. And its fastest on level 11s

Once the anniversary goes away and the tokens disappear, so do the level 11 speed runners

To be honest, I do not bother with the Vanilla TW at the moment. Not as long as the anniversary event is up and the weekly there gives out champ track gear. If I do that weekly then the vanilla TW box changes to Vet track gear. Anniversary weekly is much more convenient to complete for me so that is the one I do.
