The things you LIKE about 9.1?

Let’s face it, for most of us, 9.1 was a massive letdown. However, there are definitely some positive points to it, and for once, let’s try to get some positivity into the forums. For example, the things I enjoy about the patch so far are:

  1. You can use covenant pets on any character now. So you can finally summon J!ggles on your non-Necrolord toons.
  2. The toy that grants your battle pet wings, so it can fly with you. It’s adorable.

  1. The Glasses Transmogs. They are amazing. I wish there was a bigger variety, but I’ll take what I can get. I also find it weird one of the pairs requires level 48 to transmog but the other 4 don’t.
  2. THE STUPID MAW GROUPING RULE IS GONE. You can now join a group in the maw and instantly be phased with the other people in your group.
  3. Eye of the Jailer is gone. Honestly one of the stupidest parts of Shadowlands.
  4. I’m not forced to use the ugly Corridor Creeper mount in the Maw anymore.
  5. A lot of the new PvP talents are amazing. I’ve particularly been having fun with Star Burst on my Balance Druid, and the Tranquility talent as Resto.

There’s obviously a lot I don’t like, like Torghast having a “Timer” to get a perfect run (have to stay empowered as much as possible), the fact Renown is locked behind the weekly on Korthia, which takes forever to complete, and I have 1 of each covenant toon I need to get Renown on, and various other things, but I’m also enjoying parts of the patch too.

The raid, worldboss, megadungeon, season 2, etc… is even out yet…how can it already be a massive letdown when half of the content comes over the next couple weeks?

I like the idea of a mega-dungeon, if it actually fit in better with WoW’s modern end game and if it came with at least 2 new other dungeons I’d forgive patch 9.1 its other flaws.

I am enjoying it so far. It was a bumpy arrival, borrowing from the quest title, but it has smoothed out and been fun. I like…

No more Jailor’s eye

Riding in the Maw

Already have a couple of gear upgrades

It’s raining anima

Will have flying soon.

I really like the relics you find throughout Koritha that you bring back to the Archivist, not challenging or SUPER tedious to get and you can view them in the cave to get little backstories and descriptions, very flavorful!

Things I don’t like:

Story execution, story plot, story consistency, the new zone, the new dailies, the new currencies, the new domination socket system, legendary crafting, covenant systems and their restrictions, fire mage nerfs, quest design, the new raid (aesthetics, as I haven’t actually been in), Torghast (as a thing, but also the 9.1 changes make it worse)

Things I like:

Flying is added, M+ rating system, no eye of jailer, mounting in maw - so basically, I like that they removed a couple of bad systems and copied one of their addons.

See ya’all in 9.2, 10.0 or something.

It was clearly a patch to appease casuals and anti social types. I think it succeeded in providing tens if not hundreds of hours of content to do in the open world for them.

As someone who prefers when the game favors raid logging - i think that patch is fine but clearly was aimed at non instance content people

The glasses are pretty cool!

It’s a very small thing for me. But I’m happy that they fixed the bug where you moved around characters on the character select screen and if they were more than the 12th character on that realm, it got really wonky! Now it’s so much easier to move my gnomes and bank alts around

It’s kind of telling that half of the OP’s list consists of things that were removed or fixed.

Anyway, on topic, I really appreciated the skip for alts they implemented this time around. It bypasses hours of questing and takes them right to the point where they’re ready to do daily content. This is how all alt skips should work.

Really crappy stuff they did there. It’s a shame took all the fun out of 9.1 for me. I’ll just collect anima and wait for catchup renown for this patch. Maw still sucks, lipstick did not help that pig at all. Torghast now sucks. Won’t be doing either.

Ewww lord, I hope 9.1 isn’t Blizz’s concept of catering to fans of open world content. Because that would just be awful with how barebones and recycled everything is.

Nah, I think it’s much closer to the truth to say that 9.1 was clearly meant to be out like like 6 months ago as a very minor addition to 9.0’s end game.

They probably tacked on a few more currencies or systems as development dragged out endlessly but 9.1 isn’t catering to anyone except the easily pleased who were fine hanging out in 9.0 indefinitely.

9.1 is a fine patch, the problem is that its 3-4 months late. Especially if we believe the datamining which shows it was originally slated for late March.

I don’t know what you expect… this is WoW open world content since Cataclysm… literally and the patch cycle contents have been standard since Legion… so if you loved 7.1 you should love 9.1 it’s basically the same thing except 9.1 has a better story

So far (knocks on wood) the daily quests seem to be one and done. No multiple layers.

How do you start Archeology?

I’m sorry, are you comparing this Maw train wreck to Suramar?

I can’t… even take that seriously. And that’s even allowing for the fact that Legion was the beginning of this tragic development cycle we’ve been stuck in. At least it was new and fresh back then.

Sun glasses. Easy 200+ gear for my alts. Killing and looting broker vendors in Torghast.
