The TBC petition already has more signatures than the months old Stormrend petition

I mean they said that about regular era too

I’m not even a tbc fan and I would play it if they released it

Regular era was absolutely dead for about 18 months… That’s why they didn’t do TBC era and why they shut down character copy.

If the playerbase supported era off the bat we probably would have tbc era …

DB is right. Everything Blizz does is not without their metric and feedback systems and if you worked off that at the time you would conclude there’s no need for a TBC Era and a cloning system.

Well yeah, the game was essentially over everyone had beat naxx etc

Era got a bunch of players back because the natural cycle that the majority decline actually exist - which is the common “fresh when” wave, went back. SOD players deny fresh too, yet hypocritically played SOD, which was basically “fresh”. No other reason than getting the itch to play it again. You see the same thing with TBC atm.

Blizzard is learning about its playerbase with classic but slowly

Idk about you but if I play a different game and beat it, I don’t just go back and replay it immediately - after some time i get the itch to play it again.

Era servers are mostly on autopilot so they could probably rerelease TBCC (with cloning) without it being any kind of big deal for them.

As far as numbers go as you can see from Classic Era you only need a few hundred on each faction on a single server (or cluster as it were) for them to have “the TBC experience”.

We will probably see it one day but like everything else, its not gonna come the day after people demand it. Patience is the only real option outside of the occasional friendly reminder that its something you’re looking forward too.

Honestly, I’m not so sure. Blizzard likes to do this thing where they get their back up and dig their heels in. If we do see it, it will be years down the road and only after there’s a big explosion in the private server realm that makes the finance folks go, “Well maybe we coooooooould make some money off this.”

As silly as it sounds, that’s probably the best thing TBC enjoyers could do for themselves. Go find a private server and make a home of it. Either Blizzard shakes themselves out of their stupour and re-releases official servers or they don’t and you just enjoy your TBC time on a private server. It’s win-win either way.

I’d happily be wrong here… but I suspect someone, somewhere at Blizzard got offended about something Classic and now the people who just wanna enjoy the dang game get to suffer.

There is plenty cause for doubt and its plenty possible that it never happens. Maybe even likely.

This is just my thought process but eventually they’re gonna run out of expacs to relaunch or pull the plug somewhere before then. What then?

I dont think the Seasonal servers have been anything to write home about and by extension neither would a Classic + if such a thing is on the table. Maybe one day a significant amount of people return to Era over time and after a year or two a notable percentage clamor for TBC. Like what Laz is saying.

With Blizz its always a numbers game. Do a significant amount of people want this to the point we can make a significant amount of money? If yes, you will see it one day.

But yeah, I don’y disagree because its certainly likely a day like that never comes. I just think the potential is there with the right moves.

For sure… But they had no reason to do a TBC era server after TBC since classic era probably was on the chopping block to be shut down

I guarantee if they didn’t charge for character cloning they probably would have shut down era after a year or so… Obviously not now people play it… but they weren’t for a bit there

I highly doubt that tbh, they would run likely run into legal issues after selling a bunch of people clones for “a museum server” and then just shutting it down. It’s also there for ID and legality purposes probably (pservers etc)

I replied before reading this but yeah it’s possible. Who knows - i mean they did advertise it as a time capsule/museum, I doubt they thought people were going to play it in the way they are now but still sold clones regardless

This guy has to be kidding right? Even if u go wowhead and check 2006 comments from how to get reputation in AV they said Alliance had way more people than horde and they had longer queues, and even if not the balanced of server had nothing to with the expansion, if people decide to move an other server and make it all Alliance or Horde its a community decision. TBC gave balance both factions by giving pallys and shamans both sides.

man just keep playing cata and let the people ask for what they want.

A petition doesn’t say anything about the majority.

Not sure where I sign at but I sign. I would have stayed on classic but Wotlk or cata, nope. Vanilla is also not very fun.

i thought that happened because of nostralus? that huge private server that had like 100k people playing it or something

Well yes, when the server was shut down a massive petition from the hosts asking blizzard to either host their own version of vanilla or let those willing to do so. TBC petition is not on the same scale, but we’re in an environment where the request on Blizzard’s end is far simpler, and players are proven consumers at this point.

Its actually surprising to me that people are opposed to a TBC server.
