I’m going to go ahead and guess that most people against dual spec are the ones who don’t participate in pve+pvp or have a class that can run most of everything without respeccing.
Having to run to a trainer and respec multiple times per day is just poor game design and no one enjoys doing it.
Saying dual spec doesn’t belong in tbc is not a valid argument, this is tbc classic. The game has changed and more importantly the PLAYERS have changed. Like it or not everyone expects you to min-max and that means showing up with the most optimal spec for whatever content you’re doing that day.
If you envy the classes that can be at their best with the same spec pvp and pve, perhaps you should have rolled one of those class. Every character is constructed through a series of choices - race, faction, class, spec, gear etc. These choices result in a character that will excel at certain things and be less capable at others. That is one of the beauties of Classic wow - choices mattered. Evidently you feel a hybrid class should come with all the benefits of their wide range set of abilities, and also be the best they can be at all of them. Wrong version of the game.
Then remove respecs altogether. It’s almost always some Shadowlands player or someone who’s barely touched Classic and is unlikely to play much of TBC that has a negative opinion of majority favored QoL changes like Dual Spec.
It’s almost like these people want Classic to do as poorly as possible.
Please explain how it is a meaningful choice if it’s something that can be undone in <10 mins. It’s simply an annoyance and nothing more.
No one is “envious” of classes that can get away without respeccing, we simply want to play the game without a useless time sink interfering.
I love declining invites from my guild/friends to do something because i just respec’d and don’t want to do it again. such meaningful choice much wow
Finally got my gear set to tank dungeons today and it’s been a blast. I’m still gonna mainspec ret, but Id really love to be able to buy dual spec and swap over and tank dungeons as i please. prot pally is fun. Respeccing doesnt need to be a chore.
Hey Blizzard, we still want Dual Spec in TBC Classic. If you have absolutely no intention of even considering Dual Spec and want these threads to stop, take 10 seconds of your time to tell us “no.”
Anti-QoLs aren’t capable of explaining it, they never have any validity to it. It made things so much freer and not so exclusive forcing you to respec for every thing.
No. And it doesn’t matter that you can change specs already. It matters that it’s more of an obstacle to change your spec than pressing a button on the fly. Adding dual spec changes the feeling of investing in your spec, and you identify less strongly with one spec.
Why not triple spec? Actually, we need more than that for pvp specs. Why not add triple class too? Triple race? Because character identity in RPGs matters. And it doesn’t matter if you say someone has the choice not to use it. This is an MMORPG. What other players do or don’t do does affect you and how you feel about the game. It affects the way you approach the game, your mindset, your goals, and everything.
It adds a tension to the game that is not otherwise there. Should I invite this person as a this or that? Should I go to the raid as this or that? Already sometimes players are forced to take a role they don’t want for their guild, such as tank. It will be worse.
You know why wow turned into what is now shadowlands? Players asking for stuff they will later complain about. LFG/LFR were asked for in posts for years and years. Just because the players want something does not mean they fully understand what they are really asking for and the complications it will have.
Not a clue. I do not, and will never play Shadowlands. Level 60 Mag’har Orc Shaman.
No thanks. Implementing Dual Spec now would be a whole two patches before it was implemented in WoTLK. It’s not a Retail feature, it’s a QoL change and Blizzard asked us what kinds of QoL changes we wanted to see in TBC Classic. Until they say “no.” I will be asking for Dual Spec.
We wanted Classic to get away from that garbage, and you people got us changes already. You can go back to Retail and keep your garbage easymode features.
We’ve been down this road. It leads to WoW now. It is one more expansion and I doubt they’re stopping this classic train at TBC. So just wait and pick the spec you want to be or get to grinding gold to keep switching when you need to do so.
