Yep this turns out to be correct.
I did write something incorrect earlier.

Yup wasnt calling you out. Just had a minute to actually look into it and verify it and brought it forth as a PSA
im a disabled Veteran i am low vision and limited movement in my left hand…I tank and heal do a slow and steady job…but thats not enough so i get kicked and have to endure a 30 min deserter…why bother?
Thank you for your service.
But you probably should find a couple friends to play with to avoid that, no many people are willing to sit around and be patient for random players.
they can play as they like but they seem to rather 4 man or three man or solo yet kick whoever they judge unworthy of being in their presence
Well, they kicked you and probably que’d for another right away. I would kick you too, I’m not looking to play slow, it’s not personal, it’s just your playstyle doesn’t fit in the group that you are a part of… it’s one of those situations were you gotta find people that are like minded to play with or get lucky into a slower group.
The catch is that using the LFD finder, which people wanted in order to find groups, puts all kinds of people together.
Also, that “find people to play with” swing both ways, if people want fast groups, they are better off making their own, it is really getting to the point where there should be a disclaimer when using LFD “this will place you with people of all styles, if you can’t handle this, don’t use this tool.”
Really, if you are letting the game form your group, you need to be able to adjust based on what you get, it might be faster then you want, it might be slower, but group content, no matter what forms the group, is not the place to be selfish and think your way is the only way, and the VTK should be saved for those that forget that.
Sure it goes both ways, if my pace and pushing for a faster pace is frowned upon, they can kick me… but they don’t. Why? Speed, efficiency and can-do attitude. The only people who come on the forums and complain about all this que dungeon non-sense are the people who are getting kicked because they’re a hinderance to the team and yes, the team decides if you are a hinderance or not and going too slowly is a hindrance to many, myself included.
People who are struggling, have to adapt.
So they have to adapt to you, you don’t have to adapt to them, or do anything but what you do?
If it was not for the idea that, for some, “too slow” means you are not back in queue 5 minutes after zoning in, you might have a point. As it is though, your attitude, like so many others, is that of a selfish, self-centered, spoiled brat that likely does not get kicked because most people don’t consider it worth it for one reason or another.
So, if a group wants to move quicker and kick someone for not being able to keep up… are selfish, but it’s not selfish for that people to expect the group to cater to them by slowing down? It goes both ways my man. The group decides if you are hinderance and if you’re too slow MANY will want you removed. I don’t get kicked because I adapt, kick or leave on my own… you’re making this personal, it’s not.
Does no one ever think of that middle ground? I did not say you had to slow down to their speed, but try meeting them half way, or find out WHY they are so slow.
I see it the same as school with advanced/honors/etc classes. LFD is more or less a “study hall” where we have students of all levels, Some might need help, from the more advanced students, yet YOU are trying to make it so your “study hall” is only for students like you.
Really, is it that big of deal so the run takes 15 min instead of 12? is it content you actually need a tank for, outside of it takes one to get the group going via queue? I have been doing TW, and with the scaling there, I sometimes find it better to let lower levels loose and just focus on holding aggro on mobs that get by them and bosses. Otherwise, I try to plow the way so that any who are having issues keeping up have a clear path to run, and I will only really “stop” at bosses.
Why would 3-4 people in a 5-man group discuss a middle ground, when they are the majority and can remove the people who aren’t playing the way they want? The reason they can’t keep up isn’t important… you can’t go into a group and expect them to cater to a single person because they can’t play a certain way, I hope those people find guilds, groups and friends that they can play at that pace with… but I see no issue in them being kicked or voting for it myself.
Because they want the game to improve, because they are decent human beings, etc.
Yet it is alright to expect the one to cater to the majority fully and wind up hating the game.
As far as kicking? Not everyone reads the reasoning, so one that thinks someone is “too slow” can initiate the kick and have it pass due to that. You are also ignoring one factor: even if they find a guild/friends/etc that they can play at the pace with, they can still wind up in LFD due to said people to play with not being on at the time or they want a, for them, fast group to pass the time till said friends are on.
But for me, it is a “why kick if the roll is not really needed for the content?” like if there is an OP DPS in the group, and the tank is going slow, why kick if that DPS is more or less one shotting mobs anyway? If the healer is struggling to keep up with the group, why kick if no one is dying?
Like I have said, LFD brings players of all skill and styles into the same pool, One should be willing to cater to those that play differently then them, even if it means virtually 3-4 manning the instance. But then, on my main, this protadin, I’d rather solo the dungeon then kick anyone, if I am going slow it could be because I noticed someone is struggling some way,
How would finding a middle ground improve the game? It only really improves it for the one person who wants the group to cater to them and slowing everyone else down.
Also, couldn’t care less if people don’t think I’m a decent human being.
Well, if they can’t or aren’t willing to adapt to what seemingly most people want and they quit… that’s their choice and it should be respected.
I dunno what to tell you dude, if they can’t find people in their time frame to play with, do something else? It’s not my problem to solve, but I’m sure they’d search for a guild that plays around their time frame?
If the group is fine with doing that, then cool, I don’t control the group. I’m personally not going to defend them either if the group wants them gone. As I said earlier, I adapt to each group and if the group as a whole wants to slow down too much, then they can find a new healer… it’s not that big a deal to me, I just go with the flow.
