Yeah, I wish it was account-wide because I have AH sellers on several realms. I even have had to change sellers because of harassment.
Also. Not every ebay auction has a buy it now option either.
Again, if our only option in bmah is to bid. I don’t think there should really be a gold cap at this rate.
I get why the gold cap exists. Clearly it isn’t doing it’s job.
I am just not a fan of bidding in wow. It just isn’t working as intended.
Like I have never seen a bid war in history that only lasted 2 seconds. Just because someone reached a specific gold cap at a specific time. They usually end if someone bids a huge amount of money, and no one else can bid anymore because they have no more money to bid with. Then the auction is technically over.
But with wow. It only ends in 2 seconds because someone bidded the gold cap at the right moment. I guarantee there were other bidders in line ready to bid. But they can’t because the sales cap was already hit. Not because they ran out of money.
In my mind, I just wish they would delete bidding from wow. Wow has more of a fixed economy. Because you can only earn so much gold on any given toon, and then you can’t earn anymore.
But seeing what happened with the BMAH bid war here. We need a higher gold sales cap. But we also need a higher gold cap per player to.
I mean, us broke players are just kind of screwed. Just like we have been from the beginning. But at least have the BMAH, if it must exist, to have an actual competition. The bid war ending just because the second person hit the sales cap. That just doesn’t make any sense to me. Other people in line perhaps probably had more gold to spare across their toons.
I feel like bids should only end when no one can bid anymore money. With this system, it is like, yah, it ended because we can’t allow you to bid anymore money.
I don’t even think bidding would be so bad if the system didn’t dictate how much you were allowed to spend like how in real auctions and bids work in the real world.
That is the issue I see with it. The arbitrary sales cap.
With a real bid, you can set how much time it lasts for, and the person who bids the most money wins.
Here it is just done because the game won’t let you bid anymore than 9 million gold or whatever. That just doesn’t make any sense to me at all.
Well, you have to get rid of the character gold cap first. Maybe make gold region account wide.

IK Classic isn’t the same, but you can fight 19 other people for it with /roll.
Well, ZA wasn’t changed so the ZA you run today is pretty much the one you got in Wrath.
However, ZG was drastically changed.

I missed 5-6 of them over 6 months then finally …
I saved 10 million on 2 servers, and stayed up till 2:30 in the morning every night – for 5 months – and it finally popped up on Christmas Eve and I got it.
I changed my sleeping pattern and life in so much as instead of going to bed at 1am and waking up at 9am. I started going to bed at 3am and waking up at 11am. I was not working, so I knew then was the time to do it.
People on the West Coast have a clear advantage on BMAH.
I’m not saying people should have to do this, but I don’t see why this is an issue . My feeling is that everyone should have to go through what I went through to get it. It’s not a right to have a Zulian Tiger without competition.

That was a reward for completing the dungeon while it was current. The tiger and raptor was farmable for 2 xpacs after the raid was introduced.

That is the frustrating thing to me in my op. Especially for the people who wanted it back in the day. They might as well of not added it back in at all if you ask me.
Back then my only competition, was having to compete against RNG. That was it. Now it is like a .5percent chance that it actually shows up. And a .5 percent chance that you actually bid the gold cap on time. Like good lord that is insane in my op.
Least any bid wars in real life don’t work like that. As long as you have the cash, and you bid within the time window before the auction ends, then you win.
Bidding in this game is so stupid. I just absolutely wish they had implemented the mount back into the game in ANY other freaking way.
I don’t agree. Consider that the bear got the Brutosaur treatment, where Blizzard didn’t wait to announce its removal until the tail end of the expansion.
The announcement was made May 2008.
TBC launched a year and a half before that. WotLK prepatch came out in October 2008.

I think in general, This in my mind would be a better alternative overall.
Anything on BMAH is a huge pain. Anything I have ever seen added to the BMAH over the years. The original implemented way of obtaining the items on there, was always so much easier and efficient.
It feels like being punished. Like Oh you didn’t have the mount drop for you in zul gurub in wrath. Well there is an alternative.
.5 percent chance for it to show up. .5 percent chance to be there at the right time to bid gold cap on it.
Kind of sucks for anyone who tried to farm it back in the day and didn’t get it. It is even harder to get now. Like I hate the BMAH so much.
That is another thing that perplexes me. You have mounts like the brutosaur with Ah vendors right. I love how there was only one. They add no variety anymore.
Least in wrath we had 3 different giant mammoths to choose from. Like I don’t get why they can’t just add an off color with no vendors on it or something. I guess that would make to much sense.
I wouldn’t mind a reskinned zulian tiger to, that was a white one or something.
But man. It sucks for anyone farming for it who didn’t get it to drop. Now it is a million times harder to get.
Unrelated but I only ever saw one tiger mount drop back in the day. Went to warlock who was part of a group of four RL friends who played together in our guild. Nice kid. Sadly heard that he died in a bad car wreck caused by a drunk driver some years back.
