Gnomes are best because vulpera are furries, goblins are greedy bastards, and mechagnomes are a completely horrific abomination.
To be fair, mechagnomes would have fewer >'s if they had more customization.

I’m more upset by the fact they just appeared one day, with no lore about them.
And they’re treated like they’ve been with us the whole time.
There are non-playable races that we know more about, like Taunka or even Furbolgs.

Well you’re not wrong. There was just such a big ground swell of excitement around them during bfa development. I think blizz were just responding to that. I don’t think they were originally planned to be playable.
I know right it’s not like we got anthro cows, pandas. and wolves already, space goats too if you consider draenei that. Oh no with the addition of fox people is when the game appeals to furries… who the hell is he kidding with this?
Wrong Vulpera are 
I like the vulpera the most.
However they have one massive issue.
I dont think we ever really got to know them.
Sure we have a surface level understanding. We got to know a few characters and their personalities.
But as a culture? Their history? We saw very little of it. We just know they travel a lot.
