Has the ever been a time where the story in this game had you emotianally invested in the characters? I am just curious because I have never felt a dang thing for a single NPC save a few moments. Ysera’s death, the Wrath cinamatic got me…and I cannot think of anything else to be honest.
Arthas, Sylvanas and the helm of domination are the only things i gave a damn about. All three were spit on by the devs with this joke of an expansion.
To some degree. Not the same as I do with books or some TV series or anime, but at least a little bit.
“Thank you, my friend, for letting my last few hours mean something.”
Dude starved to death to help you…
Gonna have to say no.
You probably don’t read quest texts or listen the NPC dialogs as there are definitely several emotional moments in WOW.
Honestly, Legion was the time where I felt the most for characters. Ysera, Runas, Tirion, etc. These characters went through some serious stuff and seeing some of the biggest names in WoW fall, or having someone like Runas who we’d never encountered before tug at the heartstrings (with great voice acting) was a treat.
Both Jaina and Saurfang in BFA.
Legion for sure was my biggest attachment.
First Arcanist Thalyssra
Suramar was just such an amazing story in general.
After the whole “Horde is nothing” thing with Sylvanas, I knew I could safely drop my expectations for WoWs story to 0.
Though I guess Garrosh? I’d of happily died for his Horde.
There’s been a couple.
But mostly because you’d have to be ridiculously incompetent to not make stories like Pamela Redpath or Crusader Bridenbrad have an emotional impact, especially with the latter’s background.
Jainas story is bfa was pretty awesome
O I read quest texts but they are meh.
A lot of the WOTLK things such as Arthas and Bridenbrad were very well done.
Sylvanas used to be an awesome character as well when you did things like the Belf storyline and brought her that music box and such.
Of course all that’s ruined now.
But they were very good and well done originally.
Most of the stuff pre-BFA and some of the stuff in BFA. I used to really be into the lore. I’d been extremely invested in the story since Warcraft II in the mid 90s. By the end of BFA, I felt like players like me were being spat on, and I stopped caring about lore in SL because it was written so poorly.
