The real Scourge expansion we need. I know its coming.
It indicates whoever’s writing the story, isn’t interested in making it good, they just want to use it as something to point to and say “Look at how diverse we are!”.
While most everyone else starts to mentally vomit.

But you have to understand how vast WoW lore is “diversity” is baseline. It’s possible you’re just not as open-minded as you believe yourself to be.
I don’t understand why are you crying over lore…
Everything is just a dream of N’zoth…
And we are going to wake up eventually.
They do need to expand the world beyond the same 5-10 characters, but they fail every time they try because all they can produce is corporate boardroom checkbox slop.
Practically no-one new comes to the game because what they are selling is lame and safe and designed to appeal to boomer executives with a specific message, not young people.
The simple fact is, young people want:
Male characters that are badass
Female characters that are hot
A story that is cool
None of this is done.

Ironically its the boomers that want all straight / white characters.
Young people want diversity.
Also, mmos in general are not getting new people. esp not the younger crowd (generally speaking)
If this is true it’s not because of their writing its because of trash word-of-mouth
Issue is that the new staff at Blizzard don’t have that kind of perspective.
They believe as one of the other posters mentioned before that change has to be forced.
And that’s what makes all these arguments and accusations null and void.
Whoever made these changes are the new staff or “democratically” controlled think tanks there that doesn’t allow an opinion that goes against the unspoken vibe that is diversity at all costs.

Thrall is an ORC , is that not Diverse enough? If you saw an ORC real life you would crap your pants .

I don’t remember that at all. That sounds like some wacky revising they did later.
Thrall and jaina opened TWW, you literally get the first quests from them

If your entire view on this matter is based on an assumption, then it’s probably not a good position to take to begin with.
Just some food for thought.
Oh, that wasn’t making him out to be a good guy, at least not yet, that was just them appending a wacky rules about the scourge needing a “Leader,” to add extra drama and give BBQ Bolvar closure.
I’m confident that someone will come out and reveal Blizzards internal practices one day.
Then will have the truth and you’ll look foolish for defending it.

Once again I think things are being looked into too much. From what I can see the writing is as good as it has been since Vanilla. The only main difference is that things were new back then.
Sure.
But it is implied arthas was holding the scourge back from attacking and running over azeroth
It’s why Bolvar was needed to step in after.
I don’t think it implied that at all. It merely implied he was controlling it. He was actively invading and being pushed back, the “Control” was just to keep the remaining scourge from continuing to be an existential threat to Azeroth.
