The Storm Glaive, [A-RP]

Some of our characters are still lost in the bloody magic forest. Others got to infiltrate a Horde shipyard and blow up their new carrier, though, so that was a great time.

Oh Light. On Friday, an antagonist from a previous adventure showed up, demanding our help. After we almost killed him instead, we reluctantly agreed to investigate an artifact he had. Turned out to be WAY too powerful for anyone to handle. Well, so some of us think. But we’ll need to research how to destroy it. And in the meantime, there’s disagreement on how to safely store it.

Really it was a great event, and I look forward to continuing Elynxdria’s plotline.

In next week’s episode, Tyr uses her shiny new artifact to launch her plans for world domination. \o/

The Storm Glaive: giving rogues ridiculously dangerous artifacts for “safekeeping” since 2015.

I’ve met some of your number, nice folks.

Thank you, Phylok! We try to be positive members of the community, so it’s really great to hear you’ve had good experiences with our people!

On the RP front, our team managed to locate the Sentinels in the haunted forest without getting killed by the angry dryads, and have extricated ourselves at last. What happens next will depend in part on the outcome of tonight’s guild meeting, in which we’ll learn what was in the letter that freaked out the admiral and the spy so badly.

And we are actively recruiting! Like many, we’re suffering from a bit of a slump over xpac reasons and vacation season, so activity-wise we’re currently pretty small. But while we don’t want to grow too large, we do want to grow. We don’t rely solely on the current game content for our stories; we do casual RP, one-off events, and longer plots; and we like to focus on our members’ RP and character growth. We also have an active Discord with both RP and OOC channels, and we try to make it easy to get caught up and participate even if you didn’t make the start of the story or you’ve missed some events of a longer arc. We do take the current xpac reality into account – the Alliance and Horde just kicked the Legion out together but now we’re at war, and most of our characters are affected by it to a greater or lesser extent – but it isn’t all we do.

The guild’s theme is that of a merchant fleet with our official privateer letter of marque, which affords us a broad and solid framework on which to tell a lot of different kinds of stories. We have a few merchant-and-passenger vessels, a warship to defend us, and a stealth ship for recon and super sekrit spy stuff. We skew chaotic good – full-on evil or super-sadistic grim-dark characters probably wouldn’t find with us the atmosphere they need to advance their stories – but your character doesn’t have to be a relentless do-gooder rescuing cats from trees; we have some characters who are genuinely morally grey (not swinging wildly between randomly heroic and randomly horrible, but legit hard choices, ends justifying means, sins to make up for, red in our ledger). Some of our RP takes place aboard one of the ships of our small fleet, sometimes we have naval battles or fight sea monsters, but we also spend a great deal of time on land or undersea. Some of us are full-throttle kick-the-horde-out-of-Darkshore, but others are just trying to make a living, avoid that bookie who wants to skin us, further our research in the far-flung corners of the world, search for ancient relics and lost treasure or missing people, or just feel the wind in our faces and the freedom of the open sea.

If you’re just looking for a social guild, we aren’t the right fit for you. We’re social, but we’re an RP guild. If you’re looking for a guild that mostly does PvE/PvP/raiding etc with some light RP mixed in, we aren’t the right fit for you. There’s light PvE to be had and some members do PvP, but we’re an RP guild.

But if you’re looking for a roleplay guild where you can have an impact and you won’t get lost in the crowd, check us out! If you’re looking to grow your character, advance your storyline, make friends, and help build an outstanding RP guild, check us out! We’re a friendly, respectful, and open bunch, eager for experienced RPers to help us grow and also glad to help newcomers learn the ropes, as long as you’re serious about RP. Your RP doesn’t have to be all that serious – we have room for crazy inventors and wacky shenanigans as well as more serious stories – but we are an RP guild and we’re looking for friendly, respectful RPers. You can check us out at http://www.thestormglaive.com/ for more about us and our code of conduct and to apply, or whisper any officer if you have questions!
