Long-time mythic+ pugger here. This is the first week I’ve experienced where the “meta” has been this scripted, it is basically impossible to get into a group at the moment if you are not a:
bear tank
holy pally
aug voker
fire/frost mage
shadow priest
I get that this combination is needed at the level of 28+ in order to be successful, but due to trickle down effect of what people think they need it has created a scenario where everybody else is now required to push their own key. I get that is a viable option but pugging should not be this exclusive to the majority of the playerbase. I’m getting declined for keys I’ve already timed… it’s feeling a little insane. Have never had this experience sitting in a que before - and trust me I sit in que for hours and hours some days so I know what it can be like.
This should be addressed by blizzard asap as it’s an an awkward change for this point in the season. They also can’t roll back all the free io people are getting this week from the overpowered aug + mage comp. This seems to be a pretty huge detriment to the majority of the mythic+ community and will have impacts that last through the end of the season if not looked at and dealt with asap.

Although I agree the meta is really really nasty right now, the “free io this week” thing isn’t too significant as far as title
Implications go imo. The good players will get it regardless of meta as they always do. A lot of season to go as well, things change quickly. I wouldn’t stress it too much!
Edit: After playing through this week and having multiple discussions about this, I agree with you. I stand corrected. The impact this meta change has had on a lot of players is substantial. My only advice going forward would be to latch onto an aug evoker! Rough!

Well mages are already getting nerfed and it’s often better to offer specific suggestions rather than a general statement.
Ask demo locks how they felt about getting nerfed almost nonstop this expansion because they scaled exceptionally well with PI and their damage without was hardly anything to brag about being at the top.
I’m a prot pally and I filled my vault then helped my ret pally friend fill her vault neither of our classes are on this list but we had no trouble getting invited in seconds…

Well then why are you suprised if your doing 26+ key levels of course people will want the best comp possible to maximize success chance.
I just breeze through 16s and 17s to fill my vault and have no problem getting in.
Top end keys have always been like this it isnt new

Also i wouldn’t say doing your 17’s for the week and then checking out makes you the playerbase that I am speaking for here. We have different perspectives on this

Well you shouldn’t really be pugging 26+ keys to begin with pugging is aimed towards people like me who max our vault then check out not for keys higher than 20
Says who? Anyways thanks again for your reply but once again i think we just have different perspectives on this and “you shouldn’t be pugging anyways” is not really constructive or sensical so i think i’m done with this conversation

How is that not sensical? Its just common logic pugging isnt meant for doing top end content thats how its always been.

Pugging this week has been a pain. Either it’s no healers or it’s no tanks. Or you can’t get into anything.

It’s mildly annoying at the moment. I used to get invited to 90% of the groups I signed up for. Now? I’m lucky if I get invited to 1 out of 10. Declined, declined, declined, group has been delisted, declined. Most people want the easiest ride possible, they believe they have to invite the meta classes or there is more of a chance their run will fail.

It will just get worse. I don’t know is it because many players are taking brake from wow and all that is left now are meta/ io score tryhards .Either way im just tired of this m+ community at this point and considering calling it quits.

Pug problems for people pushing the 0.1% title is likely so far down the priority list it’s comical.

M+ has fallen to 1 tank 1 heal 1 aug and 2 DPS of whatever is meta. Everyone else is hard-capped at +19s.

The problem with m+ right now is cd stacking on one class.
We are back to shadowlands meta but worse, you buff mage with pi, blessing of summer and aug evoker and bam 350k dps from mage if not more. I’ve been in a key where mage pulled 2mil dps on aoe pulls, this is not normal.
CD stacking is the problem and mage nerfs won’t do a damn thing to it.
At this point priest only servers are PI/dispel bot, with how broken is holy paladin you don’t even need offhealing from priest.

How you don’t understand … the meta effect is everywhere now, even +20s people are looking to play with only this classes. Open lfg and type ** AUG ** and see what you get.
