So if it just so happened to be a straight couple, would you think of that as pandering to a traditional Christian family-values agenda?
If not, why?
What makes one of those relationships “normal” and the other one “pandering”?

The culture of today isn’t one of organic growth. People’s whole personalities are being decided for them via mass media and social networking/internet indexing engagement algorithms. You’re right, but it isn’t a good thing.
Quest was kinda boring but a little better than tyrande yelling at me. The quirkiness was alright
The collector dude this week wanted a doll from Devos and mentions it must have been important to her.
Blizz pushing children on us now smh.
Yeah, I don’t really see why people would have a problem with this besides blatant homophobia. It’s not even shoved in your face. Sure, the kiss might be a little extra, but I’d only be willing to accept that if they complained about similar romantic feelings between straight characters. Given how many people are trotting out the ever so familiar “politics in muh video games” line because it’s another example of people’s lives having to be inherently political because of immutable characteristics about them as a person, I’m not inclined to believe that, however.
Guys, it’s okay. The pixelated deer and horse aren’t going to turn you gay. And if they do, well, then you probably always were and there’s nothing wrong with that.
Did you miss the Alextrasza quest that was part of this very chain?
Childrens week though lol.
Pandering would be something along the lines of, as someone said earlier in the thread, the two characters having lisps, rainbow flags and doing nothing but talking about how gay they are, acting upon stereotypes. Which they don’t do, and the romance itself is an minor plot point behind the major plot point of seeking advice from a former Night Warrior.
Lady Moonberry or Ysera or Shandris aren’t saying anything like “Wow, hero! They’re gay! Isn’t it great that they’re gay?” They’re just gay. That’s all there is to it. If you think that that’s pandering, then I’d have to question whether you’d consider media that has any character that isn’t straight or cisgendered to be pandering or not.
Gay equine couple is a blip on the agenda radar compared to how this expansion was written. For example… Take a good look at the Shadowlands loading screen next time. It’s depicted in a very socio-political way. It’s framed - Left vs Right - Women vs Men - The Left (women) side’s colors represent Renewal, Harmony, and Balance. - The Right (men) side’s colors represent Death, Chaos, and Oblivion. Whoever signed off on that artwork has some some issues.
Boo. I’ll have to go get offended about something else now…
I’m sure you can find something
10/10 thread would read again
Lmao?
So you missed the past 10 years where multiple other lore characters are in openly shown and discussed relationships?
Alleria and Turalyon? Tyrande and Malfurion? Genn and Mia Greymane?
Y’all always say this but the complaints are only ever brought up when it’s a gay couple. It’s pretty transparent.
“Huh, that always works in fables” is possibly the best 4th wall line I’ve seen in warcrack ever.
None of them do? I haven’t noticed any thus far and as a gay man it’s very easy for me to tell when actual pandering is happening. It’s usually pretty obvious and offends actual LGBTQ people.
Ik you guys like to claim any form of representation whatsoever is pandering but that’s not how it works
As a cis-het female who’s not even a slash/yaoi fan (which I’ve recently learned is a thing in my demographic), I thought they were completely fine. The kiss part was cringy only because it was jarring between their refined personalities and the silliness of Moonberry’s suggestion, but it would have been just as cringy if it had been a straight couple. Well to be honest, nothing can top the cringe factor of Tyrande dragging us around Val’sharah and bleating for her damsel in distress husband four years ago, so…
The deer? I did it yesterday, what? I totally missed this
So avoid Kyrian and Night Fae, got it.
Nope I’ve complained about every single one of them. I try to ignore it when possible but why does it need to be shoved in peoples faces. The Malfurian Tyrande was probably the worst.
Oh my malfurian…
Its worse then a middle school Romeo and Juliet play.
Nope I say it every time an relationship is brought up. Its world of warcraft. Not world of lovecraft, world of sexcraft or world of gendercraft. If you want romance and sex please read a romance novel and keep it out of video games about war.
I would prefer to just openly kill of any relationship if given the choice in game. Barring that then let me ignore like you can with the mature language filter.
Yeah, until this thread, I had no idea. It completely went over my head.
That’s assuming two Ancients make babies the traditional way. Could’ve just been a union of their souls or something.
