A simple and easy way to address this issue right now is to just add more versatility to PvP gear. Or increase the bonus for a full set worn, but make it so it’s disabled in pve. I quit right after vanilla years ago but played cata for a short while. PvP felt pretty damn balanced in cata.
I ran a lot of arenas and seem to remember that most fights were a hard fought battle of attrition. It does not feel that way anymore.
If the issue is survivability, literally all they have to do is make the 2pc versatility bonus apply to the damage mitigation portion of the stat as well.
That’d better differentiate PvP gear from PvE gear, providing a noticeable curb to damage inflation while not slowing down the game too much.
People will complain about too slow paced, game too long, dampening required, not fun, etc
The elitist arena players will say that you should be punished for making mistake, not trading defensive CD properly, not rotating your CD properly, etc
I m not against your idea but the high rated group just enjoy the one shot mechanic as it is less work for them to climb rating and way more punishing to new / inexperienced arena players or players that are good at using tactics to outplay opponents.
that’s because if you make surving easy good players will literally have 40 minute matches. No body wants that. Go watch good players stream now. Matches can be 10+ minutes. you have to have and understand of how to peel, trade cooldowns, and use your cooldowns to survive in this meta. Honestly it’s the same principles that arena has always had you are just much more easily exposed if you don’t understand these things now.
Well in my opinion, to tailer the game to the pro is insane when the great majority of players are average and get one shot. I am still learning other classes sure, but i am at 25% versatility, i can still get one shot from a fire mage, boomkin, ret pally just sitting 1 second into a stun. A single class should not be able to output this much dps this quickly (while wearing PVP gear). I understand i have to trade cooldowns, but even being 1 second late is too late. Too fast for me.
Well I’m glad your opinion doesn’t count for horse-shoes or hand grenades…
Blizzard listens to the “pro’s”, as you put it, because they can actually show Blizzard what each class is capable of. It’s not everyone else’ fault that you can’t press your buttons and react, or pre-emptively use something to set up something else. That is on you, and the game shouldn’t ever be balanced around the lower brackets skill level.
This literally just sounds like you need to practice more and stop thinking the world should be revolved around you.
you still have to play better bro. Gear isn’t going to save you from losing. You have time you just have to have an understanding of what is happening or is about to happen.
Matches are extensively longer because the healing received was really high as well. Imagine cutting the healing power by 25% to 40% , I guarantee you the game will end faster.
Then you will say, that’s simply dampening… There is definitely some overlap but the main difference is that, all healing power are reduced in PVP when the match begin at a fixed rate (20% 25% etc) . If you cannot recover your HP to full every 2-3 min, the game will not last that long. That is one of the factor players should consider as well. Great sustain is one of the reason why the game last so long. That’s like you can reset the advantage many times in one arena match. To compensate the overpower healing sustain, huge burst is introduced as a band-aid solution to make the game shorter.
Huge burst game play, like I aforementioned, punish inexperienced players / players that are good at using tactics severely.
the pace of the game is fine the way it is. Big damage, big heals it balances it out. There is no meta that will make lower ranked players happy because their problems are more related to play. Whatever classes are good or easy to get value out of will be looked at as OP no matter what the meta is.
Mages coming in here saying we need to react when they hit for 26k+ with 1 single ability. Go watch mitch jones delete cdew in a global a guy that won blizzcon and have been in multiple tournament, very competitive healer at a high level. Couln’t even seee it comming he just said that damage is unhealable.
Stop defending your class and saying we need to react or press defensives just assept is broken
If other people can play around it, then you can too. Stop making excuses and feeling sorry for yourself, because no one else does. Also the one ability Mitch did was a cheesey Pyroclasm build that actually isn’t even good outside of maybe playing double mage with Xaryu lol. It’s a 15% chance to proc and you have to line up all other CDs with it… so once every minute-15 sec you have a CHANCE to 1 shot someone? lol…
Also, not “defending” anything lol… you’re just flat out wrong and can’t handle the idea that you could play a billion times better and actually succeed. If you’re losing to 1500 mages then that is 10000000000% on you and no one else lmfao.
“JuStA sToPPah DiFFinDiNg uR cLaSsK… wE aLL kNoW iM dA bEsT ReT PaLa oF aLL TiME aNd tHeRes nO wAy fOr Me tO pLaY bEttEr AnD nOt LoSe tO 1500 mAgEs.”
Yup so busted that other people aren’t having any success against them. Fire doesn’t have the easiest damage CD to dispel. Their gimmicky 1-shot build is wayyyy to hard to play around and counter… YUUUUP you right my G… you right.
Maybe you should go educate yourself and watch some videos even high level streamers are saying mage is stupidly broken and not punished enough for making mistakes due to them been so durable and impossible to kill
gd you are hilarious… changing it up now, eh? The only thing any streamer of note is complaining about is Triune Ward. They don’t complain about the damage lmfao…
So which one is it? The damage is the problem or the shields?
