THE PROBLEM
Throughout the course of BFA the devs were asked about the issue that has been a serious problem ever since M+ was introduced, where you ran 20-30 times the same dungeon to get a BiS trinket in the first tier, and then in the second tier you had to do it all over again.
The devs even responded to this question saying they agreed it was an issue, but there was no solution in sight then.
In Shadowlands many people have done that twice now for the same item, once in the launch patch and once again in 9.0.5 because of the upgrade system.
So, even if a Valor Vendor is introduced, people will have to re-acquire that item again (this time from the vendor) which is bothersome.
THE SOLUTION
The solution is very simple. Increase the upgrade ilvl cap for all items when the new patch drops.
Example, an item right now would be Ilvl 184 0/12 upgrades. The current maximum Ilevel is 220.
Patch drops. That item now is Ilvl 184 0/15 upgrades. The new maximum Ilevel is 230.
(230 is just a ballpark number, I don’t know what the new cap is going to be)
Another item, an IQD Jimmy spent 30 DoS runs farming to get. His IQD is Ilvl 220 12/12 upgrades. Patch drops, it becomes Ilvl 220 12/15 upgrades.
Done. It’s a simple solution, it’s in Blizzard’s hands and people don’t have to stress over re-acquiring those items, just running M+ and doing Callings to get Valor and upgrade the item.
TL;DR
Increase the upgrade ilvl cap for all items when the new patch drops e.g. 12/12 upgrades becomes 12/15 upgrades.
