As a well seasoned tank, both Druid and Pally, I can hold my own in fights cause I remember what it was like to help the healer keep me alive. So wipes are not an issue when I am tanking. However, these new kids who never played with actual underwhelming gear and a need for strategy just run in, pull it all, wipe, and ask something stupid like, “Healer AFK hurdurr?”. So to fix their incapacity to understand the fundamentals of tanking, we’re going to pull in something special.
My thought, is to add Mythic+ Dungeon Affixes (scaled down a tad) to regular dungeons. This prevents the tank from thinking everything is cool. It will require groups to work a bit harder, slow down, and pull groups the right way thus giving healers and DPS a chance to learn their roles. The purpose of dungeons is to prepare for ungodly powered raids. As Illidan would say when it comes to being Raid ready, these kids are NOT prepared.
There was a time when every person in a dungeon run had a role to play, like a legitimate roll and we succeeded as a team, not just cause the tank was OP in OP gear and the healer could keep up. If a Dungeon taking an extra 10 minutes is a problem, sounds like a personal issue. M+ are timed and people still pull those off. So let’s teach these kids what TBC and Wrath dungeons really felt like, and not the watered down version from Timewalking. It would certainly eliminate SOME of the issues, and create more group oriented players who understand risk.

Won’t happen. LFG kids these days cry when there’s anything remotely challenging. See: Cata heroics at launch.

Oh I know it will not happen. Everything is diluted for pandering to the lowest common IQ. Unfortunately, that same pandering led to an anti-social player in a social setting. Teamwork is an integral part of this game. It was even said in Dragonflight as you moved from the plains to the span. “There are plenty of adventurers here to help. 3 or 4 should work, but 5 is an ideal number.” I just remember actually having to use things like SAP, CC, freeze traps, etc in dungeons before a pull so we were not screwed LOL

You mean what content felt like back when ‘good players,’ were probably comparable to modern KSM players?
We had Naxx on farm and I was using the arrow keys, and clicking abilities as the consistent 2nd highest DPS in the guild I was running with. Lol Rose-tinted glasses, man. Content wasn’t harder, we were worse players.

So your idea involves taking the most disliked dungeon implementation of all time and putting it into casual normal dungeons?
There is a reason why blizzard removed affixes this season.

Exceptions and rules… two different things. And if you can tell me tanks are better today… like NEW tanks, than they were back then, I will buy you a drink!
Don’t play with random people expecting everyone to be the same. If you want people who run the dungeon a particular way, run with those people in a guild or social circle. Complaining how random people play is pointless. If you want the convenience of a quick group put together, these are the things you have to deal with.

Bold talking about kids these days while referencing something that happened 15 years ago
Or just go back to when tanks did not have self heals like they do now, reduce AOE damage in dungeons, and make it so that healers primary job is keeping the tank up, not keeping up brain dead DPS who just ignore every hazard.
Removed because skill issues. Sadly, removing them does not fix the issue. If anything, at some point, 25M Mythic will be cleared by 3 over geared players.

so you think Naowh has skill issues regarding sanguine?
because he has said how he hates sanguine and it makes him want to not tank during that week.
and before you answer this question, i would like to remind you that Naowh is a member of the guild Echo who has won multiple races to world first and Naowh was the tank for an MDI team and a TGP team that has won multiple competitions.
what are you even talking about?
mythic raid is 20 people.
if you are talking about a +25 mythic plus dungeon, then no… that will not be cleared by three people. a +25 now is the same as a +35 previously and no one has ever cleared a +35 (in the entire world)
Well, the issue with non-trivial LFD content is that it becomes a revolving door of kicks on the lowest performing player until the content can be cleared.

Had you more carefully read my original suggestion, rather than knee-jerk reacting into immediate opposition, the goal was not to make Affixes impossible like they are in M+, but rather to add a touch of difficulty to prevent chain pulls. There does not have to be a difficulty modifier on bosses… just trash. As for the Mythic comment, I had heroic in my head at the time cause I was tanking a raid and reversed M raids with heroics. Like I said, it was a thought, not a demand. I just figured we all benefit if tanks actually learned to tank, and not just grind for gear and watch a 7 minute video.

Have you run m+ ? The entire thing encourages chain pulling…this wouldn’t change anything in lower dungeons.

Not if the trash could wipe you. The bosses are fine, but trash needs to be just OP enough that one pile of mobs is actually dangerous and not just whipped down by a Demon Hunter and a Monk.
Yes I am aware and I took the opportunity to explain why your thought is incorrect.
Again, have you played m+ ? Chain pulls will still happen.
The solution is for Healers to go on strike.
Don’t heal that DPS who’s pulling like they’re a tank.
Don’t heal that tank that’s run so far ahead that he’s LOS.
Seriously, stop taking other’s b.s. Tank/DPS are offloading their work onto you, expecting you to clean up their messes.
Just roll a dps class for a while.
