The Soar nerf is unnecessary, heavy handed, and plain out unfun

but they could do it in the maw before we had the special mounts and the mounts fully unlocked
is what i am referring to the soar nerf they listed it for

100% mounted speed vs 940%? That’s 9.4 times faster at pre nerf, that is significantly faster if you think about it.

i was not talking about the speed% i could give two rats about it
it was the reason they gave
stating it gave them an unfair advantage
faster mogs
chromie time
faster gathering on nodes
and fast quest completion

if that was the case then why the worgen and druids can go faster then the player that had to use slow running at the maw beginning

It is an unfair advantage, 100% mounted speed isn’t as powerful as 940 much yet alone 640%, you are moving much much faster. Again imagine seeing every dracthyr dinging new max level 10 times faster than you.

Or they could just use Dragonriding that doesn’t have a five minute cooldown like Soar does, is faster than Soar, has more abilities, has a talent tree and few restrictions compared to Soar. Even if they didn’t reduce Soar’s overall speed, it’d still be faster to travel while questing/levelling in 60 to 70 content.

Every one will be on equal footing in terms of travel speed in Dragon Isles content, playing on a Dracthyr or otherwise. The only times you need to use the Soar ability as a Dracthyr is during the level 58 to 60 starting experience, as Dragonriding isn’t unlocked prior to level 60. Starting experience is like 35 minutes even if you take your time.

Travelling faster in older content doesn’t provide any notable advantages. I can travel to most places faster by using my Scouting toys to unlock every flightpath in every expansion in history. The Soar ability needs extremely high verticality to traverse vast distances. The lengthy cooldown, no vigor points already leaves it as a niche option to travel in limited situations.

The nerf isn’t game breaking or that big of a deal at the end of the day, but neither would leaving it unchanged.

Testing extensively on Alpha for many hours feels differently than just discussing it on the forum, but what do I know?

Doin the Lights work

A) It’s alpha, not live. So it’s not a nerf, it’s testing.
B) 930 is obnoxiously fast and you know it. STOP whining.

Learn the definition of nerf.

Sir and/or ma’am, you’re the only one who’s whining here. As loyal paying customers, we’re giving feedback about what we like and don’t like about the new expansion, expansion that many of us preordered.

If you can’t stand people giving feedback you don’t agree with, go to the bottom of the thread and select “Mute thread”.

PS: Unnerf Soar and remove its cooldown, thnx.

It’s only alpha, they’ll fix it later.
It’s only beta, they’ll fix it later.
It’s only pre-patch, they’ll fix it later.
It’s live, they’ll fix it later.

Boy I love it when Blizzard doesn’t listen to feedback, I can’t wait for Shadowlands 2.0

No thanks, I think I’ll continue testing and providing feedback on this forum and on the Alpha forum, but thank you for your feedback on my feedback.

Okay honestly, they need to give every race a cool movement ability if it’s to be kept as-is, otherwise there will literally be 0 tanks come DF. Seeing the videos I thought:

  1. That’s really cool
  2. This is going to eff literally everything up.

I would like it to stay #1, but blizz has their work cut out for them if they don’t want everyone and their grandma/mom/cousin/friend’s ex playing a Dracthyr.

I can fix this problem. Soar is now on a 15-20 minute CD and now you move 900% faster! There you go guys.

I’m an arm chair dev now thank me later.

No. Not a chance.

I mean people were having fun with it of course it was going to be nerfed lol blizzard will nerf and destory everything if ppl are having fun without paying them 30k to have an expiernce they will remove/destory it. They want actrual gamers to be slaves to them or be forced to pay thousands of dollars for “fun”

Truth is since 2010 they have been nothing but a walking corpse spewing out stuff hoping something sticks long enough to cash out… So y surprise lol

Honestly, it would show great growth if they admitted they were wrong and just revert the nerf. As long as it doesn’t come with a bunch of self praise about listening to testers.

But until then, the #fundetected meme is going strong.

Is it a meme if its true though lol

Exactly. The meme exists for a reason.

At times it seems like hyperbole, but I’ve been testing the fifth expansion in a row. It never seems to be without fail, anytime I provide feedback about a feature, ability or something feeling good, smooth or that is fun to do, shortly after, the Devs will remove it, alter it, nerf it or make some sort of changes that seem almost comical in nature at times. At the end of the day, I’m not a developer, so I don’t know what’s always best, but I’d like to think sometimes I am right.

You’ve given everything, but not enough to be right sometimes!

I honestly only think torgast changed because the devs made it mandatory for progression.

If torgast never provided a currency and stayed an ever challenging /changing floor plan that only provided cosmetics, it wouldn’t get the hate.

The hate came from making it mandatory
