The Sloot and Ion interview was great

Yes, the real softball issues :anguished:

Sloot did a really good job, very happy with the interview, despite some of Ion’s answers being super sketchy.

What are you even talking about? There are simple changes they could make that would make the system not feel terrible. Assigning each spec an ability as they did in legion for example. There is no reason why covenants should determine gameplay, they should be a purely aesthetic and storyline choice.

then everyone should have everything the same. All classes do the exact same dps, hps, block, class should be able to tank heal, and dps the exact same numbers all at the same time. Can’t have one person do 1 more of anything than you. then I would not be the best and I would have to make a choice

Kind of stupid that min/max is incompatible with people’s aesthetic choices, there simply isn’t a need for it to be that way.

This will backfire on them, because regardless of whether or not it is necessary for the majority of players to pick the highest sim dps trait, people will feel pressured to do it, guild leaders in even heroic guilds will pressure their people to do it. That is just how this community operates and it won’t change. Welcome to another 2 years of people screaming they are “forced” to do X, Y, & Z.

you’re kinda rude all the time but in this case you do make a good point. people doing heroic raiding and low keys and not going for glad/high warlord don’t need to worry about which they choose. they should just pick what they think is coolest.

My personal opinion if everything is the same and there are no real choices that is really boring.

mmoRPG. i wonder if people realized that when they signed up?

I mean you do want them all to be effective. As long as they are very close to one another it shouldn’t be that big of a deal picking one and someone having a .01 percent chance better in one area of the game. (just random number). Now if it is a big difference in an area of the game i can understand that but I don’t think that is what they are aiming for.

Wonder if people realize that the primary people who still play this game play it for the pve content and care very little about the rpg part. There are much much better single player rpgs out there.

i agree. they need to be careful with balance with them. there should be nothing wrong with a dk wanting to do necro though if they want and it be good for them.

Where is the study for this primary people

Not at all what I’m saying but keep fighting that strawman. A player of the same class should not be inferior to another of the same class and spec purely due to story choices.

Softball issues like the core expansion systems and how to address the most maligned features of BFA going forward.

What

most people don’t raid or do mythic+. even lfr level not even half do. so tell me again how pve is the be all end all of this game? even less people do pvp. as per the devs. why are things balanced around this then? your guess is as good as mine.

RPG can mean more than just stat choices. Reading Ion’s response from the interview it is clear they only see it being delivered is through the vehicle of combat rather than story.

Serious question in what aspect has wow been an rpg post vanilla outside of race choices. Ion is right in that rpgs have choices and consequences this is fundamentally incompatible with wow due competition against other people that doesn’t exist in experiences such as Pillars.

if they balance properly there shouldn’t be much QQ. that’s what i’m hoping for. once i pick out which i want for each of my toons i’m not gonna change it. i have plenty of time to decide though.

Most people aren’t at max level so why even have any max level content. The majority of players who play actively do partake in pve there is a reason the world first race had 300k plus concurrent views at the end. WoW outside of raid and dungeon content honestly just isn’t that great of a game. It has long frustrating grinds with little payoff the story is mediocre to poor at the best of times and completely nonsensical at the worst of times. What WoW does do better than any other game on the market is raid and dungeon content combined with excellent combat mechanics.

uh speak for yourself. i went to ff14 to try it since it was “story is god” and i didn’t like the story as much as wows so i came back. the entire game is fun from level 1 when you first spawn until you reach end game and do whatever it is you’re planning on doing. wow is not a high end content simulator.
