My guild when we are progressing in a raid will do 2-3 hours a night, if we clear the raid in that time great, otherwise we come back another day and another day until it is done. Last night we spent 2.5 hours getting to Sire, than called it a day and will kill Sire tonight.
No raid I have ever been in does a full 6 hours in one sitting, that’s ridiculous to even assume this is the case. Some of you make good arguments for LFR and the mount, but you are obviously trying to make it sound far worse than it really is and it makes you look bad.
Some of you LFR or non raiding players really don’t think before you speak and are honestly just making excuses for free content. I try to support you lot, but like many other players here I am starting to think none of you deserve this mount or anything nice.
I don’t choose to schedule my play time around someone else’s schedule, that’s dumb. Did you ever think maybe I choose to raid with my guild because they fit my schedule? You know that would make a lot more sense right?
Okay, but, you also need the rest of the guild to be there. You are inherently commiting to a set schedule when you join a guild raid team. If you’re not able to play during those set windows, you’re not doing the content.
It may work out for you, but you’re still depending on other people’s time to get the content done. Not all of us have the luxury of being able to have regular and consistent several hour blocks of play time.
I for example, work essentially random 12 hour shifts from 7a-7p. At least three counting weekends, holidays, overtime occasionally, etc. Because of this fact, I’m not able to say that I can commit to every Tuesday and Thursday evening. There are weeks where I don’t get a chance to play WoW at all because of how my shifts line up.
and this is supposed to persuade a business model to alter its indirect monetization hook?
This makes stronger argument as many players also wouldn’t want to sit through all that even if they were carried. the time frame being the major point. over 2 years 31 bosses is no issue. but we are looking at +/- 3 months.
the problem of it being fated raids means the slime cat will prob be limited time which is imo asking a bit to much unless it later changes to a full clear with fated being a dificulty toggle for shadowlands raids. because otherwise, i dont see how people coming into the game for dragon flight will be able to get it.
If you have at least one day a week where you can potentially find a set 2-3 hour window on the same day each week you can than 100% find a guild to raid with. There is no way in the world anyone who is no working a slave job will be working 7 days a week every week for the rest of their lives without having a chance to take a few hours a day to themselves, if you are, find a new job.
1 day, 3 hours a week, that’s all you need, find a guild that fits that schedule. As for needing everyone else to be online, that’s the entire point of finding the right guild. You make it sound like there are never going to be 10+ people who can commit to a single days raiding at all in the entire game, that’s just a lie and a bad excuse for not wanting to raid.
The only time I will ever accept ‘my work schedule’ as a valid excuse is if you have a rotation 24 hour roster, like how prison wardens are required to work different hours on different days at different weeks so the inmates cannot get friendly with the same guards.
If you only have a 12 hour rotating schedule to follow, you have time, you just don’t want to make the time.
It’s not seven days a week, but it’s never the same day off a week. That’s the problem. You can keep telling me how my schedule works though. I appreciate your deep insight into my life.
AOTC from Sepulcher was down as little as 65K for some groups boosting, probably cheaper if you looked around. Normal raiding for a mythic geared raid group is like 1 hour of effort to clear the entire raid including carrying people.
If anyone is going to charge 1-2 million gold per raid clear for a normal raid than YOU are crazy for paying. 1, maybe 2 tokens is all you should need when we near the end of S4 assuming you don’t even play the game, because if you played the game you would have enough gold to pay for a carry without needing tokens.
Does it ever occur to you elitists that some can’t just “do normal” are you really that pathetic?
There are lot of players who can’t just “do normal” but as always the elitists come here spewing their garbage no wonder the game is dying and because of elitists like you and your kind.
There are many weeks where I work three or four (sometimes even 5) 12-hour shifts back to back in a row. I cannot commit to, for example, every Tuesday 9:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
I wake up around 4:30 a.m., walk the dogs, go to the gym, shower and then go to work for 12 hours. When I get home there’s approximately 2 hours until I go to bed where I cook and put away dinner and then shower again before bed.
On days that I’m off I am catching up with other housework and weekly household chores like laundry, grocery shopping, dishes, etc.
Nowhere during those days does world of Warcraft fit. I’m not going to change my life so that I can play a video game more efficiently.
What’s left is pugging and that can take legitimately hours to find a group. That is why I play LFR. It allows me to play what I want when I want no questions asked
I’d rather do that then bang my head against the pug wall for 30 bosses
I just found out that slime cat is limited time, I was so confused why everyone was so upset. I was thinking “just come back and get it later” but now it makes sense why people are upset.
Also, yeah by making another FOMO mount (AotC is the other one) they are making people buy more tokens for more gold to get boosted. Sounds like something ol’ Bobby came up with
10 years from now I expect there to be 3 FOMO mounts per patch
It’s almost like players caught onto these tactics, and Blizzard doesn’t realize it yet, and yes it’s screams Bobbyactivision. People don’t care as much today about exclusive mounts. The feeling starts to wear after a few hundred lol. Raids already have their special mounts, and they come in and pull this gating the slime mount. It’s gross.
